Title: Intec Wii Accessories
Post by: vudu on November 01, 2006, 09:06:55 AM
Anyone else notice this over at walmart.com?

Intec's Vertical Stand provides a solid base for a snug, protective fit for your Wii console.

Custom designed for the Nintendo Wii, Intec's Vertical Stand provides a solid base for a snug, protective fit for your Wii console. Features custom side cradles to hold two nunchuk controllers and 2 remote controllers. Enhance the look of your Wii console, while keeping your gaming weapons protected and organized.
What I found really interesting was the picture of what appears to be an Intec Nunchuk resting in the attached cradle.  Unless I'm mistaken, this is the first image of a third party Wii controller.

The Intec Nunchuk look pretty nice. I like that rubber grip and the fact that the analog stick has a rounded base, unlike Nintendo's.

Groovy.  I might just go third party for some of my controllers this gen.  It's not like I have to use them and I really don't have the money for first party ones.

It's $6 more than the regular nunchuk, might as well get the real deal

Yeah, and don't forget that these controllers are more technically crazy than past controllers.  I would wait for some reviews before buying any third party attachments or remotes.

The stand on the other hand, is a cool idea.  I think I'm gonna put my Wii on the horizontal though.  :-/

Yeah - but this item is strictly a organizational caddy. It replaces Nintendo's Wii stand and adds storage space for your nunchuk attachments, Wii-motes and SD storage cards.

Actually, the page links to the stand, which is included with the Wii.  The picture just happens to also show the Nunchuk.  As far as I know, no price point has been released.

I would NOT buy anything from Intec.

I would NOT buy a 3rd party analog stick.

I'm more and more curious about third parties now that my barriers have been broken down after buying tons of accessories from them for my DS, but... I don't like the idea of leaving memory cards out and exposed to air.

Besides, my Target stand is absolutely perfect: it holds FOUR wiimotes vertically and has a nunchuck tray as well! I'll store my GC mem cards with my GC, where they belong.

... is that a WIRELESS nunchuck? Too bad it has a circle base, I hate those. 8 cardinal directions indented 4TW.

I highly doubt it. You can see the bottom of it has a bendable cord "connector" much like Nintendo's official attachment (seen here). They probably just took the wire out to make the image appear cleaner and less cluttered.

I too hate the circular bases. I could never execute the trick I wanted to in Tony Hawk 4 on Xbox.

I like the Intec Stand/Organizer.  MUCH better then Nintendo's.  I might get that.
Kairon: Stick the Contact side down in the storage unit.  Probably how it should be anyways.

Hm seems like $26 is a bit steep for the stand alone, but then why include a pic of a yet-unseen third party doodad without stating it's not included in the package.

I would also be careful about buying a third party Wii controller - with all the new stuff, they could have technical issues, and may not last as long as first party ones.

What's the deal with the PSP MemoryStick in the picture, though? The Wii only does SD memory.

wow looks pretty good quality actually.

I wouldn't mind getting it but $26 seems pretty steep for it.  Then again i purchased a $100 Intec Mobile Screen for my GCN, and it was 100% worth it.  I took it with me on 2 E3 road trips from Arizona to California, and to a few concerts while i waited for doors to open.
