Title: Nintendo is worth more than Sony

Apparently Nintendo has almost $1 billion more in the bank than Sony. What's odd is that Bill Gates himself has way more money than Microsoft itself.

Yeah, it's nice not having electronics and movie production segments of your business being a tremendous burden on your bottom line.

Interesting read.  So Microsoft gearing for profitability in 2008.  So they want to be going into the next next gen being profitable.  That's actually still on par with there original two gens to profitability prediction.

Doesn't mean that Nintendo is worth more than Sony. Push comes to shove, and Sony starts selling some of its divisions, the company would easily have more money at its disposal.

Like K-Mart and Sears.  Sears went to buy K-Mart who had much less money but they had a lot of prime real estate.  So they liquidated all that good real-estate to turn and buy Sears.  Thus Sears Holding Company was born.

True, but Sony is tanking right now. I think Nintendo should buy them. Wouldn't that be a bitch?

I'm sorry but buying a ship that can't hold water doesn't sound like a good idea.  I could see some of the other electronics company liberating them from there other divisions.

Exactly, the film business works on such acquisitions, just how Sony itself swallowed up Columbia. So I would expect, if Sony ever did melt down, that several of the divisions would be split up and sold off to different companies.

It would really shut up all those PlayStation fanboys that keep saying Nintendo should exit the console business if Nintendo bought Sony's game division, then eventually dissolved/disbanded it.

Well it would be pretty awesome to have a Gran Turismo game on the Wii, or the next console, assuming it uses similar freehand controls.
