The Disney licensing I could take or leave, but the gameplay tweaks look pretty hot: (1) the DS is held "Brain Age"-style, the screens side by side. Bigger screen = thumbs up. And there is also horizontal block moving.
I for one welcome our new Meteos overlords.

Lion King, Nightmare Before Christmas, Pirates of the Caribbean 1 and 2... at least the subject selection has been good so far. I loved the first so much that this gets an instant purchase from me. Also great to hear that the Pixar cannon will also be used.

Wait, horizontal block moving? Do you just mean it's horizontal if you held the DS the "right" way, but it's vertical when you told it the "Brain Training" way? Or do you mean you can now move Meteos both horizontal and vertical? Because that would make the game way too easy.

The latter.
Meteos (which I never got around to buying) + Nightmare Before Christmas? I think I'm going to have to get this.

Surprising that this isn't just a soulless rehash with Disney themed blocks. Will it be enough to buy it again though?

Seems a bit of a strange choice of game to slap the Disney licence on in my opinion, but I guess the marketing team smell a profit there. Being able to move Meteos horizontally is probably a move to lessen the game's difficulty and make it appeal more to children... I think it'll spoil the game mechanics somewhat, personally.

I'm not sure it would make the game that much easier or any worse. It would help in the cases where you have a ton of burnt meteos and really can't line up any vertically.

I think whether it would be easier or harder would be entirely depend on the stages--the gravity of the pieces, block speed, etc. In other words, I think the developers will compensate for the horizontal combos.

I don't think horizontal block moving will make the game easier in the slightest. On the contrary, it could make it harder. Yeah, there are now more options, but with those options comes the burden of needing extra time to assess and Meteos is a game that does not give you time to react. If they make the game forgiving all of a sudden, yeah, it'll be easier, but if they keep the lack of time aspect the same, it shouldn't be easier at all.

I think that this looks pretty good. I love the original... just wish that they would add wi-fi!

Its not that strange considering the publisher for Q? is primarily Buena Vista now and Buena Vista is Disney's publishing arm.

So far if they've made it into Kingdom of Hearts there golden it seems. So hopefully there will be a Tron level. (If you haven't seen Tron and your in/interested in a computer related field you should watch it.)
Though how will that work with the launching of Meteos with it being horizontal?

Saw Tron decades ago, I think I might still have it on VHS somewhere and might have to revisit it. Anyway, I'm really interested in what the music might be like (I would kill for some Zimmer stuff from the POTC/Lion King scores, but not going to hold my breath since they would have to pay to use them).
I was disappointed that this seems to have been pushed back to Feb from the original Dec release, as I was planning to make this a Christmas present for someone... oh well, at least it will be more polished.
