I guess it will be five bucks more then normal, but godDAMN, it is so worth it. An art book, 20th anniversary soundtrack CD, Castlevania emblazoned stylus... yeah, that's worth five bucks to me.

Holy water! When I first heard about this elsewhere, I just heard about the soundtrack CD and was, like, meh... CastleVania music is pretty good but a lot of it's been remixed to death.
The artbook sounds sweet, though. And the carrying case and stlyus might be cool. The fancy wax-sealed box makes this really sound like it could be a hot collectible set. I might be cross if I miss out on this.
Is it true about Circle Of The Moon and the two N64 games being axed from the official CastleVania timeline? That timeline thing might be neat for like two minutes...then later as a reference, but not for long since they'll keep making more games.
(Ummm...dagger. Yeah.)

"Is it true about Circle Of The Moon and the two N64 games being axed from the official CastleVania timeline?"
Yeah. I think there's some old Gameboy game that has been removed as well. I don't really get removing Circle of the Moon. Unlike the other axed titles it's really good. If it's removed then we can assume it will never be re-released in any form. That's not a big loss for the N64 games but Circle of the Moon is a classic and having it slowly disappear as the GBA becomes more obscure is kind of a bummer.
This pre-order stuff sounds great. My brother is a big Metroidvania nut so I'll have to give him the heads up.

Erasing Circle of the Moon is a crime.
Those CV guys have ego issues. Circle and the N64 games were made by the same studio. Iga LOVES to believe they didn't exist, considering it's THEIR handheld games that kept the series "alive", unlike the the PS2 disasters.

Circle of the Moon rocks!
I'm going to try and see if I can get this pre-order deal at my local Canadian EB, I haven't been there in a while and I usually only go there to get pre-order bonuses.

That should be a crime. The Castleroid/MetroidVania games are awesome. Those are Symphony Of The Night (PSX, also on Japanese Saturn and Xbox Live Arcade, supposedly), the three GBA games, and the two DS games. Basically, all the recent 2D games. Play them. NOW. And if you like the more linear games, supposedly the PC Engine game "Rondo Of Blood" is the best of them, but it's hard to find. VGMaps.com got maps of that game recently, in fact.
(VGMaps.com seems to have gotten the CastleVania bug, and probably all the 2D CastleVania games are mapped or in the process of being mapped. Symphony Of The Night is the current Atlas Project...that'll be exciting when it's done, but VERY LARGE. o_0)
And now that I notice that Ian Sane writes "Gameboy" when it's always been "Game Boy", I will keep pointing that out to him, just because I can. :P
I believe the removal of certain games from the "official timeline" doesn't necessarily mean we won't see them again. It's not like, say, the CD-i Zelda games, for instance. But then again those were never meant to be official. They could say they're part of another reality, much like how Mega Man Classic/X/Zero/ZX are part of the same Mega Man continuity, just a hundred years or so apart, but other series like Battle Network (and probably the upcoming Star Force) can exist in an alternate reality and yet still be considered Mega Man.

AHA!
Looks like Circle Of The Moon and Legacy Of Darkness and (64) aren't TOTALLY axed.
The fifth picture shows the timeline. Most entries are actually readable, except for the center part because of the angle of it between the folds. But note the three entries right before the fold!
Unless my eyes deceive me, it looks like "Circle Of The Moon", "Legacy Of Darkness", and "64". Whether they're axed or not, they're there...just with no description.
Here's what bugs me, as a very anal person about details...CastleVania, like Superman, doesn't actually have a "64" in its title for its (first) N64 game. And yet they did say 64 here. You'd think it'd be to avoid confusion with CastleVania in 1691, and yet there's 2 "II"s. I know one is the Game Boy game, but would it kill them to put the consoles each of these are on? And despite saying II, they didn't say "III" for Dracula's Curse. Grrr...

This is a sad world we live in. This isn't meant for you. This is meant for someone who actually cares about Castlevania. I weep for the fact that you guys will get this and never even look at it while KDR will (most likely) have to settle for downloading illegal PDF files.

I said I've never owned one, I didn't say I've never played and loved them. And I'll definitely be looking through it like crazy. My friend had all the GBA games so I just borrowed them from him.

So today after work I checked out my local EB. The clerk had never heard of it and suggested that it was only available in the United States. Sh!t. If anyone from Canada has been able to get some clarification about this let me know. There is after all a remarkably good chance that the clerk was just spazzed.

I pre-order everything I really want, i do this automatically, since it's easier to have them shipped to me instead of me going out of my way to a store to buy a game. especially now since that I live in Colonial Beach and there is nothing around here, the Wal*mart is in Fredericksburg, and I haven't been there yet. So online is the way to go.

Uh oh, that's not good. I'm heading to the movies today and EB Games is my first stop when I arrive at the mall. It's a huge mall and a busy EB, so if they don't know then no-one does.
I'll be preordering this online if I can't get it in store, but in store will save a LOT on shipping. You might want to do it online too, Ian. But I'll get back to you this evening.

That's doesn't necessarily mean all hope is lost. The clerk at the EB Games store I went to didn't know anything about the pre-order bonus either. He just said if it's on the website, we'll probably get something when we get the games. So you still might have a chance. Probably not; Canada sucks.

I don't care about the PDFs, I want the soundtrack! That's the best part of Castlevania!
I would think that the soundtrack would be easier to get a hold of as illegal .MP3s than the artbook as illegal .PDFs.
I hope the soundtrack is worth it. Many of the best CastleVania tunes (especially the recurring ones) have been remixed to death at OverClocked Remix (and are really good even without remixing). I would hope that an official soundtrack CD would be better overall but will it really?

I can now confirm that as of now, the offer is not available in Canada. However, the EB Games I went to was familiar with it and they are hoping they'll be getting it. Check back next week or the week after.
On a more depressing note, there was, literally, not a single Wii anything in the store. NOTHING.

I guess it depends on the store and what there policy is and whether or not they have it available before the game's release date. Some stores in the past have given out pre-order bonuses when he made the pre-order, while some you get when the game comes out.

I asked a different EB today. They at least heard of it and I got to speak directly to the manager (real hefty chick that probably would be pretty nice looking if she wasn't so hefty) who told me they don't know if they get it but the safest way to ensure I get it is to pre-order anyway. That sounds like corporate talk to get me to pre-order it anyway. I'm getting this a Christmas present for my brother so I might just pre-order anyway. It's just a bummer because I really don't like EB and usually support a local Vancouver area chain.

When I went into pick up my Castlevania pre-order at EB I saw something I figured i'd never see. Xbox and 360 games all shoved to the very back of the store. All things Nintendo had been promoted to the leftside of the store. Xbox/360 and PS2/PSP had been previously competing for space at the very front of the store. With the introduction of PS3, I guess, Microsoft got 86'd, but i'd never have expected Microsoft would be put all the way in the back...

Got mine in the mail today. Damaged, of course.
I don't pre-order in stores, because I've been burned in the past by not getting the bonus gifts.
So I pre-order online, and the stuff comes in VERY inadequate packaging, and gets all damaged during transit. EBGames.com actually charged an extra $5 for shipping. I assumed it would come in a box, not a gigantic envelope that didn't secure anything in place.
I'm cancelling my pre-order for Elebits right now.
