Title: Accessory get!
Post by: GoldenPhoenix on October 18, 2006, 07:02:00 PM
I don't know if you guys are aware of this or not but many of the Target stores are selling Wii accessories right now from dog tags, to controller gloves to carrying cases etc. Really I shouldn't have looked because I just had to pick on up and here is what I got for 25$.

Well I dunno if those were worth 25$ or not but my geeky self had to have them and they will help you to tell the Wiimotes apart. BTW that green one, since you can't see it, has a triforce engraved beneath the home button or whatever that is (which is right beneath where the A button is).

I dunno, maybe it is the price for early adoption. Then again everything on sale there was 25$ I believe (or 24.99 for the technical ones here).

I want to get that third party stand that serves to hold the Wii, has another section on one side to store all 4 Wii Controllers VERTICALLY, and a section on the other side to hold nunchuck extensions!

Nah, I can't I'm getting my Neon Lowered, Rimmed, Lit, and Boom'n. Then My feather hat will come in and I'll order that with my cape.

Neat find! I won't have any money left for these things after I buy all my other Wii stuff, though, so I can live without.

I'm still not sure whether to call these things "covers" or use the internet generated term: "controller condoms".
Personally, I won't be buying any of these until I can get red, blue, yellow, green, in that order from 1st-4th players, as that is the classic SSB color selection. I had that on the N64 and part of me died inside when I realized I would have to paint my GC controllers if I wanted it on the GC.
It just makes sense when you have to swap controllers when you have more than 4 people gathered around a TV for SSB. You can immediately tell on sight which controller is which so it speeds the process along.

Bad news for anyone else out in Rochester, specifically Henrietta, Target has nothing but a big Wii sign in a display case. The Best Buy next door to it also will not be getting Wii display units until a week or two before system launch. Damn Rochester!

Won't the big blue lights on the bottom of the controllers labeled one through four tell you the same thing?

Not when someone is holding it across the room and that light could be any one of the four.
Green will still be green, though (yeah, I know, I'm an anal-retentive bastard...)

My Target didn't have jack... T_T
(But I had to buy something, so I bought some neat GBA game protectors...)

I've always thought that controllers should tell the game what colour they are (it could be as simple as a 3-byte RGB value) so that multiplayer games could use them as default distinguishing colours. Unless, of course, you have more than one controller of the same colour, but it'd still be neat. With 6kb of memory in each Wii Remote, it could be possible...if they make different colour Wii Remotes, that is.

Some GCN games do just that. The only one in my collection is... NFL2k3. It was free, I swear.

Anyone that can't find them up at their local Target yet, they should be available by this coming Tuesday in any Target that's going to have them.

My target had it in Schaumburg IL but the whole make everything a universal price of 24.99 was ridiculous. Some I found to be a great deal like the system holder package which might I add wasnt anything like the lame grey matte one they show in the pics of the Wii. This one was all professional looking with clear light blue letters spelling Wii, all in all it was sharp. That particular package came with 2 gloves as well. Then there was the pack of 3 gloves for 24.99 which I see also as reasonable. The stupid ones were retarded though. TIN MAGNETS OF PICTURES OF THE WII FOR FREAKIN 25 BUCKS! EFF THAT CRAP. A wii game holder (aka a cd jacket) :: GASP A CD JACKET WITH THE WORD Wii ON IT:: LAME! A system case holder which was just a cheap vinyl bag with a zipper with the word Wii on it (ILL PASS) So in other words if you want to get gloves or dog tags this isnt so bad of a deal. DONT BUY THE OTHER CRAP THO.

I fail to see how dog tags are better than magnets.

Ah, but what if there were magnetic dog tags? Hmmm?
I don't usually buy somewhat extraneous game accessories. I do have a fairly nice NES carrying bag (official Nintendo product) that holds all my NES games, though. I suppose if/when I do buy them, I prefer official first-party stuff when available.

Seriously, carrying cases are useful for actual games. This other stuff...it's just more junk for me to stow away when it's time to move. But I understand some people will be interested in it, just like I keep all the boxes for my old games. Why? So I can sell them used. But I haven't done that in like 10 years.

This weekend I am visiting my parents in Albany, NY and the Walmart out here has the 3 pack of controller gloves for $8.98 plus a Wii carrying case and another product (maybe the dog tags) also for $8.98. Unfortunately, everything was out of stock. I will probably swing out there again today in hopes that over night they stocked that stuff up.

Apparently, the Zelda design is exclusive to Target. Any chance of getting a better pic?

Well I'll try to get a better pic, I just don't want to open it up because I may lose everything .

Ok it still is kind of hard to see the triforce, but here are some more pics.

Actually I think I remember reading somewhere that that was a planned feature for the n64 the colour of the controller automatically disguishing players in multiplayer.....................a dropped feature obvisiously but I'm sure I read somewhere that Nintendo thought about it
Those Wiimote covers look cool.........I want I want *droools*

I must be in an anti-Nintendo zone. Have they offend some Christian religion? I haven't gotten any of the advertising stuff.

After seeing the EB Games website price for apparently one glove of random color of their choosing, $25 for three at Target seems like a better bargain.
