Title: My SSBM Video on YouTube
Post by: Jonnyboy117 on October 01, 2006, 06:28:15 PM

This is a video I made with my friend Taylor Hill over the summer.  I just now finally got it up on YouTube.  Please rate it and post comments!

Taylor and I have been playing SSBM since the day it came out, logging around 300 total hours across two memory cards.  We play with random characters, random levels, stock - three lives, and all items except food, maxim tomatoes, and heart containers.  Neither of us is a real tournament-worthy player, but we know each other's playing styles so well that we look amazingly good when playing against each other.  All of the anticipation and strategy leads to some hilarious situations, which you'll get a sample of in the video, and which I think tend to be lost when people get too hardcore and only play on the flat level with no items and the same characters everytime.  The upside is that we are both well-rounded players and can usually be competitive with just about any character or level.

My first response when watching the video: Seems someone doesn't use Ganondorf's kick move to recover better.

That was cool.
I have put 100+(including multiplayer with CPU) hours just by myself and some very few hours of human VS human.
Playing only on a flat level becomes way too boring.
I don't have a favourite character, however it will be extremely rare for me to choose the Game&Watch character (gosh it's been so long I can't even rememeber its name lol).
You guys would still c-r-u-s-h me anyway, even if I started playing again.

Next E3 I am schooling EVERYONE with Jigglypuff. I'm a hardcore J-Puff player, recently converted.

I want to play Mr. Game and Watch one day...  I don't have anyone to play with so I haven't even unlocked half the content of the game...

I unlocked every single thing except for 2 trophies, all by myself, you can do it too Ceric except for 1 trophy which I am missing too and it needs at least 2 players to get it, the other trophy is either adventure or classic on one of the harder modes without continuing.

That might be the saddest thing I've ever read.

Ceric, I'm coming over to your house. We're playing SSBM. It'll be okay.

I don't get it; random SSBM clips of mediocre battles. I must be missing something.

The music did add a "yeah this is fun I love SSBM" feel to it. I don't know if this is supposed to be a tribute or not, though.

SSBM is obviously not best played like any other boring, cookie-cutter fighting game. 2 players, no items and on a flat stage.
