Title: Prince of Persia Thread
Post by: CrYpTiC on March 03, 2003, 05:47:45 PM
Seriously! Prince of Persia to GC! WOW! Has anyone played this game? It is the bomb. I read in a video game magazine it was selected as one of the top 10 best games of all time. Prince of Persia is an amazing game with tons of gore and a sweet storyline. I can only imagine what they can do with this in 3D.

I remember playing the original on my old 386/66MHz computer.  Great game.  I believe they made a 3d version for the dreamcast (maybe PS1) which was amusing, but I never quite got into it.  I am interested in the new one coming out for the cube though.  I do love the prince of persia series.

prince of persia 3d sucked...it would be decent except the rediculous camera angle. I almost beleivedragon chronicles was a better game.....

however considerign its developed by ubi soft's splinter cell team it probably will be very good.

I first played PoP on the Master System, I think it was the first game I played with gore. Like when you fell onto spikes, got sliced in half from those annoying doors, fell too far. Falling too far was hilarious, he'd hit the ground with a sickening thump and for some reason blood would instantly appear all around him.

.... Good times.

The renders that IGN showed were drool-inducing. They reminded me sooo much of Retro's art for Raven Blade, and that game looked awesome.
If this game plays as good as it looks so far then I might consider buying it.

I bought Prince of Persia and was soo addicted to it I beat it in less than a week. It is a very good game, though after 50% the fighting gets repetitive but you do some cool jumping around in caves and stuff. I sold the game right after though. It is a short game, and if you want to try it you should rent it first. Blah, I hate renting games though, the late fees and how expensive it is now. I guess my point is, it is a good game but unless you like to have some GC Classics laying around for your friends to play or to just go back to after a year or two, then buy it... if not rent it and beat it.

Bad combat system, the lackluster 2 bosses, and poor replay value are big flaws for a good game.

I find the reality of that idea somewhat humorous.

Well, I don't think anybody remembers the first 2 PoPs for their "incredible" fighting sequences anyway...

And I'm rather pleased with PoP: SoT, as it's plataforming sequences really kept the original's spirit (Without the original difficulty, thankfully).

The platforming in PoP was fun until the 15th room full of the exact same puzzles, over and over and over and over. Sorta like it was fun to beat up a room with three respawning enemies the first time, and less and less fun the next 20 times you had to do it.

i loved this game and have been hesitating in trading it in/selling it. for ye who commented obove about renting games and late fees, check out gamefly, like netflix but for video games, i rent through them and i freaking love it.
