Title: The Settlers is coming to DS

Finally an actual RTS is coming to the DS and it plays like the PC version too(unlike AOE from what I've heard). It looks to be based on The Settlers 2 for the PC*
- 2 campaigns (Roman Campaign, World Campaign) - free mode vs. CPU - 30 different job groups, 6 types of Soldiers - 4 different folks: Romans, Vikings, Nubians, Asians - different landscapes (forests, ice, swamps, etc.) - simple controls because of the stylus - you can change touch and topscreen (map on top or bottom screen) - zoom
Release: 4th quarter 2006, only in europe, mid-east and asian-pacific regions
Now that the real RTS' are coming, I'm waiting for the announcements for: Warcraft Starcraft Civilization SimCity Command & Conquer a real Age of Empires and whatever other good RTS' you can think of.
maybe some poinat and click adventures will start to show up to(link the web page for the Tingle game) like Monkey Island, Full Throttle or Grim Fandango.

I'd never even heard of the PC version until the announcement for the DS port was made.

When I first heard about this, I thought they were talking about Settlers of Catan, so I was a little disappointed. A portable, wi-fi enabled version of Settlers of Catan would be awesome.
Anybody here played it before? It's a board game, but has a Web version too.

Yeah, Settlers of Catan is awesome, though I'd rather play it in person.

Gah! Settlers II was awesome. I'm not sure what it was. The game just had a lot of heart. I never actually battled anyone in it. I just enjoyed the scenery. Sweet deal. I'll be getting this if all turns out alright.

When I read the title I was thinking "original Settlers or Catan?". Yep, sounds like a Settlers 2 (Gold Edition) port. I guess Bluebyte noticed that their later Settlers titles didn't interest anyone (since they focussed more on combat and traditional RTSing).

So we got Age of Empires DS, and Now Settlers.
Where's Oregon Trail.
That was either the first or second computer game I ever played, Doom was the other one, either first or second. I think I may have played them on the same day... too long ago to rememeber.
