Do you guys know who to fix that?
Title: RE: Media Blitz!! ~Wii Edition~
Post by: NinGurl69 *huggles on July 05, 2006, 05:46:06 PM
First off, a 1GHz CPU and a good 16MB video card is the minimum needed for smooth playback. That shouldn't be a problem these days... Otherwise, your computer specs are right on the edge and it'll need a major tune-up to get things smooth.
Try closing a bunch of programs, maybe even a reboot, maybe even defrag. The most efficient (CPU-cheap) media players to use would be Windows Media Player 6.4 and old 1.3x versions of BS Player (the DivX codec or filter is still required for playback). I'll just assume all other media players are bloated in some way.
If you're using the DivX codec/player for playback, go into the DivX Config and disable all post-processing and effects. If you're using the Directshow filter, ffdshow, disable post-processing. If your media player has settings for "colorspace" and "overlay", try turning them on/off and see if things improve.
If you're using the Quicktime player, go play in traffic.

Ok...
I found the problem: I'm using the latest WMP and it's beta....
I used the divx player that came with the codec and everything is all gravy. Thanks for the help P666!

We need more quality Wii media!
As I mentioned to Pro666, it'd be awesome to get the latest Wii games compilation (the five-minute one that ends with eight people using Wii Remotes in different ways) in decent quality. Like, high-res, fullscreen, direct-feed, good compression (or little to no compression) video!

I'd like to have one (and thus re-encode and share), but Nintendo doesn't believe in HD or "good quality" and is content with C.rap D.efinition webpage video. CRAP DEFINITTION IS WHAT THEY THINK IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR US BECUZ WE'RE NON GAMERS AND NINTENDO FANS DON'T CARE ABOUT GAFFIX, ONLY GAMEPLAY

Too bad it's received such poor reviews though. I might pick it up after a MAJOR price drop... and after I'm actually able to get my hands on a Wii in the first place.
Anyway, thanks for the videos! They're really great.

I hate it that there isn't the option to download the files without having to install another crummy program, I can play these *.divx files on WMP without even having DivX Player installed on my computer, although I do have installed in my computer a codec combo (for anime) that is surely to be responsible for me to be able to watch these files.

Who says you had to install a program? It's a PLUGIN. I don't use the DivX Player either, and all I needed from the DivX package was checkmark the Web Player and uncheck everything else. What's so difficult? Hell I don't use WMP cuz it's a bloated DRM infested mutant turtle soup.
And it's better than making people jump thru hoops to get a free Fileshack account and wait for a free server then wait in line for 3 minutes for a 15mb %@%^#% download to begin. And it's better for the majority anyway since they'll be able to view the movie almost immediately (server conditions allowing).
And it's better FOR ME since I CAN CONTROL THE CONTENT, rather than waiting for Fileshack (or dog forbid, Fileplanet) to accept & post my file submissions.

Thanks for the heads up. Most reviews haven't exactly lambasted it but they haven't liked it much either. I don't know how much I can really trust Wii reviews anyway. The controller really does give each player their own experience. Almost every reviewer absolutely hated Wii Boxing but it's the most talked about out of all the sports, and not in a bad way either.

Post by: NinGurl69 *huggles on July 23, 2007, 04:36:56 PM
AFFIRMATIVE
RE4 natively operates at 640x336. Capcom conveniently stretches that vertically to 640x448 for anamorphic widescreen source, leaving the TV to do the rest of the horizontal stretch work. This is why no one seems to get any detail benefit from the extra vertical resolution -- it's not there to begin with.

About 10+ times going Home -> Wii Menu. Regular reset doesn't reset the voice.
I don't even know if that's Daisy's voice or Peach. I just settled on the female voice. The only thing I've done with the game is cap the opening, and go thru some of the tutorials to refresh myself, on release day. Haven't tried the regular game. Since then I've only been watching Venture Bros. Season Two dvd set, among other video related work.

I did think that it took you some work, and I am too not sure if you got either Daisy or Peach's voice, but I think the game uses the voice of the character that was last played, I've been getting alot of the Waluigi (or at least that's who I think it is) voice because that's who I mainly use, but then again who knows but the NLG devs haha. Nice work anyway, the intro is freakin' sweet and your captures are always of excellent quality, at least from the little I can tell which isn't much at all.

Haha, for 4 days now I've been trying to remember to post my thoughts on the "The Forbidden Power" cutscene.
I really, really, really, liked that cutscene in Twilight Princess. It is the kind of cinematic that I would wish Nintendo would put more effort into their future games because I think a game from the Zelda series, or Metroid, or any other Nintendo game that can have a great story to be told and played through should deserve shuch effort, not only for us, but also for the creators themselves for having the oportunity to show us their crazyness. Heck, it would be awesome if they would put a similar dialogue feature as used in Mass Effect on a Zelda game, I think that would be awesome, specially if you could talk Ganondorf out of doing war or to simply kick his ass back into whatever dimension he always goes to.
Title: RE: Media Blitz!! ~Wii Edition~
Post by: anubis6789 on January 04, 2008, 09:26:32 PM
That one cutscene is my favorite part of TP. It was so very un-Nintendo and so very Nintendo at the same time, and for some reason it reminded me of the movie "The City of Lost Children" (which happens to be one of my favorite movies).
Title: RE: Media Blitz!! ~Wii Edition~
Post by: NinGurl69 *huggles on January 05, 2008, 11:42:35 AM
It's a cool cutscene, but a COMPLETE WASTE of a cutscene. The whole "corruption" aspect was never explored later in the game, in fact it was dropped completely after the switcharoo they pulled when Zant shrugged it all off. The Fused Shadow were no longer a danger, since it was completely under Midna's control, and no longer important. Sure, they put some effort into a plot twist by bringing Zant front & center, but making Link "go bad" would've been much more interesting.
