Title: what happened to my DS volume? help
Post by: EasyCure on June 20, 2006, 09:42:03 AM
so yeah.. i was playing my ds a few days ago and it was the first time i used headphones becuase i wanted to drown out the noise around me. i played for maybe an hour or so until my battery was close to dead, so i stopped and recharged it at home later that day. i let it fully recharge and didnt get around to playing it again a few days later (i didnt leave the charger connected to the system though).
when i turned it on to play my new SMB, there was no sound at all. i tried adjusted the volume but it was at its highest. turned the system off then back on again to see if it would correct it self with no luck. if i plug in headphones though i do get sound and can lower/increase it as i see fit, but still cant get anything when the headhpones arent pluged in.
has anyone else had this problem with their ds? is there anything i can do to fix it or should i just call up nintendo and see what they can do about it? any help would be appreciated guys, thanks.

It sounds (ha!) like you've got a faulty switch contact in there. In other words, the DS still thinks the headphones are plugged in. I'd wager that's a warranty issue.
