Yay, at least some publication likes Corruption.  It didn't even get a nod from Gamespot for best Wii game as a finalist.

LOL.  Ban it yourself with the ad blocker plugin for Firefox, if you must.

I can't decide which is worse, intellitext or the flashing PGC Shirt ad.    THIS AD MUST GO!!
Really, that thing is really annoying when reading the E3 awards, or anything else....

I want Guitar Hero!  Playstation consoles get the most innovative/non-traditinal third party games. Wii is supposed to be pushing this... where is the Wii drumming game?

It was good to see you guys (PGC) again.  I should have checked/asked around more for others besides SS4, Deg, Jonny, Bloodworth, and TYP .  Ah well...maybe next year.

I guess I agree with these awards.  I didn't get to play much myself this year, again.  I agree 100% with Jonny on Madden Wii.  Although it does have a bit of a learning curve because of the new control setup, it is very intuitive and much more simple to understand.

We're so good at running into each other, we don't even need to try any more.  It was good to see you again, too.

Final Fantasy games have always looked fantastic, and the DS remake of the third iteration (that I've coined FF III-D)
You? You? YOU?

I honestly LOVE how there is absolutely no love towards the Wii version of Twilight Princess...

Seriously, you would think that an updated version of one of the most anticipated games of this generation would get more press coverage...

And evan, don't start with the "The E3 demo was weak so the game was not worth it" crap. I said it once that just because the demo was at E3 the game is far from finished...

I'm sorry, but Nintendo will HEAVILY market this as a Wii title, even if they release a GC version alongside it.

Zelda, along with Metroid, is a HUGE Nintendo franchise. People buy Nintendo consoles just to play it. If Nintendo pushed TP as Wii game a lot of consoles will be sold.

I just don't understand why people are so bitter with TP on the Wii. True, they promised that this would be the biggest killer APP the GC had ever seen and that we would be getting it on Fall 2005. But it got delayed twice in favor of Wii features and make it a launch title. It's a marketing decision that not everyone agrees with, but it is VITAL for the Wii to be a success.

If you are set on TP being a GC game, buy the goddamn GC version when the Wii version is released alongside it. Play it, be happy and SETTLE DOWN!

I made up FF III-D before the game was even announced.

" but it is VITAL for the Wii to be a success."

No it isnt, fortunately. It will be terrible if Nintendo promotes this as the flagship title, being still a GC game you know... its like Nintendo were saying "whats the point of the remote?".

The only thing I liked was the award's logo.

On this whole Zelda debate.  It's true that some people on staff didn't like the demo at all.  I think they are crazy.  The game was a ton of fun with Wii controls and I can't wait to play it.  That doesn't change the fact that Metroid was the best game at the show though.

"Seriously, you would think that an updated version of one of the most anticipated games of this generation would get more press coverage..."

Consider the audience.  This is E3.  Everyone who attended was already quite familiar with Twilight Princess.  No one went into E3 thinking "boy I hope they ported Zelda to the Wii with new controls" or at least no one was looking forward to that more than other Wii games.

Nintendo can promote Zelda for the Wii all they want.  We know it's a Gamecube game with Wii controls shoehorned in to try to drum up sales.  Everyone at E3 knew that.  So obviously it isn't going to get as much attention as something like Super Mario Galaxy or Metroid Prime 3 because those are game designed for the Wii from the ground up and prior to E3 had not been revealed publicly.

All I ever hear about the Zelda is how E3 isn't a good environment for that kind of game or that there's still time to improve the controls.  Well that's all fine and good for the final game but these are the E3 awards and that reflects a game's showing at E3.  And at E3 Zelda didn't seem to impress.

Thank you, Ian.  That is exactly it: these awards are for the best E3 showings.  Some people on staff really liked Zelda on Wii, others didn't.  I was indifferent, honestly, since I only played it once and fumbled with the controls for five minutes.  We certainly considered Zelda on Wii, but it didn't get enough votes to win any relevant categories.

Zelda should have atleast gotting best gamecube game and how did Guitar Hero win over SSBM when it not even on any of nintendo's system?

Stevey, we didn't have a Best GameCube Game Award this year because Nintendo didn't put any GameCube games on the floor. Also, Zelda couldn't have won the award anyway because the only version they showcased was the Wii version. Finally, Guitar Hero won because it's the game the staff had the most fun with at the hotel. Any game is eligible; even non-Nintendo ones.
