Quote French site JeuxPo.com is reporting that Ubisoft's recently Knighted-in-France Michel Ancel is working on part two of the Beyond Good & Evil franchise, which was thought to have been cancelled due to low sales of the original. Set for all next generation consoles in 2007, this could be superb news if true!
I dunno how reliable this JeuxPo.com is, but this is incredible news if its true.
Anyone have a track record for JeuxPo.com's reliability about this stuff?
I swear to god, if this a PS3 only release, I will cry all the way to the store as I am forced to purchase a hopped up Blu-ray player to get more BG&E goodness.

Hasn't he said repeatedly he didn't want to make BG&E 2? I know it was set to be a trilogy, but after the bad sales, he seemed hesitant to do the sequels. He was quoted as (basically) saying "Ubisoft will essentially let me do whatever I want, and that includes BG&E 2/3, but I don't really want to."
Great news if true. Though I will echo the idea that if this is PS3 and/or 360 only, I might need Wayne Brady to choke a bitch.

They said the game will be coming to all next gen consoles. BUT It should be pointed out that the only console that was acatually named in the story was the Nintendo Revolution.
I've heard they are very reliable and it makes sense that they would find out first since Ubi is a french company.
I really hope its true cause I would kill for Beyond Good & Evil 2.

If it's published by UbiSoft I expect it to be on all the major platforms. At least I hope so. The first BG&E was great

Didn't BG&E sell best on GC? I know that has no bearing on were it will end up*, but I think Ancel has enough pull to put it whereever he wants right? Assuming he did had enough pull to manage to get a sequel in the works....
*SC2 sold best on GC but SC3 ended up PS2 exclusive

Sorry about this blank post.
Anyway here is the artical I saw on it:
Quote In between establishing Rayman as a charismatic videogame icon and bringing Peter Jackson's King Kong to games, Michel Ancel's finest hour for many was the 2003 release of Beyond Good & Evil - a game so good many missed out on it.
Today French gaming site, >Jeuxpo, has brought some hope to the few who savoured the first title, claiming that a sequel is very much in development and geared towards next-gen platforms, including the Revolution, for a release in 2007.
Now before we start pulling somersaults from the banisters it's worth noting that the original article makes no reference to a source for the information, not even an "inside source"; so we'll just have to wait a little longer before taking this as a certainty.

If Prince of Persia is any indication I don't even want to see the box art for BG&E2. Not that I'd buy the game, too much stealth and too little Zelda in there.

ohmigawd! This game would prove that there is some higher deity that is interested in justice throughout the world. Please, Ancel, MAKE THIS GAME!

I think this same rumor has popped up twice since BG&E was released. And both times the 'source' was traced back to comments made by Ancel before release, where he stated that he'd like to make a trilogy. Don't count on this happening. Count on UbiSuck (lollastic) creating more turd sequels like Rainbow Six: 66.
