12 built in games, it's already got 6 times the number of worthwhile games as the PSP.

8-bit games?  Geez, Sega can't even get this right.  It was Sega's 16-bit games that were a big deal.  Who cares about Sega Master System games?

I think your right Ian, Game Gear games. Which means it's backwards compatible! Well forget the games anyway. Sega, like Sony, knows what the cool kids want a handheld gaming system for: Movies, Music and Jpegs. It even plays full size dvds!

Oh, wait, it actually plays dvds?

Then I don't understand the system design at all. If it's a serious portable dvd player, why are they desigining it to appeal to 8 year olds?

Because 8 year old parents are still gullible.  Thank back and remember how much harder it was to get things when you become 12 or even 10.  When you think about it like that you realize that

"Hey it was easier".

i think  sega  should  try  just a  bit harder...if it  hd  a  handheld as powerful as dreamcast(not ps2) with a  screen  just as  big as the psp or ds..with  touch abilities,  plus  the huge library of games...and  was backwards  compatable with  gamegear it  could be killer

guys read the pge its nto even MADE by Sega its a liscensed product, just like thier TV Game plug N pLay Genesis they released last year.  Thisis all a part of Segas strategy of rebuilding thier image and brand recognition before re-entering console market, which they evenb said was thier plan ever since canceling DC.

dear god they're putting sonic blast on it?  That had to be the worst attempt at a traditional sonic game I've ever played....ever

Right. That's why they don't make portable dvd players for 8 year olds. They make portable 'PortaVid' players that only play 20 dollar 'PortaVid' discs.

Well, this thing clearly beats the PSP in every respect. I mean, who uses the PSP for more than movies or emulation?
