Title: Mafia II: Day Four
Post by: Pryopizm on February 23, 2006, 12:41:16 AM
The night was quiet. Mario was enjoying a nice cup of tea when he heard a knock at his door. He went to answer and didn't seem particularly surprised to see a largish man standing at the door with oversized novelty scissors held open toward Mario's neck.
Mario simply said, "Let it be," and shortly thereafter his head was on the floor.
The next morning, though, his body was nowhere to be found. There was no blood, nothing. None of the members of Reggie mafia knew what happened to him, either. They always allowed the body to stay where it lay. It was as if Mario simply disappeared.
That morning, as the town all gathered to discuss this new matter, they heard Mario's voice as if from the heavens themselves, "I am Captain Lavender! While I no longer live among you, know that I am always with you!"
Then, the prayers began in earnest.

I Vote Stevey.
He is annoying like AnimeRat, but in a more cheerful way. He must die, however.

Wandering awoke to a loud rapping on his door. Then, a voice: "Hello? Satoru Iwata here! For the unveiling of your fountain's revolutionary secret?" "You're late!" Wandering growled. "And I'm......still alive?"

I woke up this afternoon, eyes glarring over the kitchen counter, I noticed the fridge was about empty, the carton of Milk was empty and I wasn't having that. I suppose I could go down town and do shopping, but before that I think I'll stop by Town hall and see what's going on today, I heard that people love to argue there, I decided to liven thing's up with a loud boom box and really ripp it up into the crowd. Wheeeeeeee~!

Hey Wandering, you should hold a town meeting today. There are two Citizens of this town that have mysteriously gone missing since the very first day. Besides I sure you'll sell a lot of cheeze if everyone in town were to meet up at your Cheezerium, and you can show off you new Fountain...

"Good idea mr, ....uh...um, man with four sets of large breasts!
Ladies and gentlemen, a town meeting will be held at my Cheezerium at 5. With a special surprise speech by Mr. Iwata." The audience gasps. "I hope his speech isn't too...cheezy! Aha haha. Eh. Ahem." The audience groans.
Wandering bows, starts to walk back into the store, stops, turns.
"Oh, one last thing." The audience looks tired of hearing Wandering talk. "The Cheezerium is open for business once again. So come on in! 2 for one special on Anneau du Vic-Bilh!"

Quote Oh great. Now our only hope is dead.
As wandering said, he's dead but not forgotten. The captain can still bring someone back even in death. So all we lost was the equivilent of a townie.
Quote And who were those Freemason?
The Freemasons were SUPER and ShyGuy. Again, they were basically townies except they knew they were both townies (because Pyro told them) so they were able to converse freely without worrying the other was really mafia. However, since SUPER was killed on the first night they probably didn't get to do much good.
EDIT: Also, Pyro forgot to remove ShyGuy's name from the Player List. He's listed as both alive and dead.

"Thank you all for coming to this emergancy town meeting. We're all here, in the cheezerium, to decide which among us are mafia members and then to vote accordingly."
"BUT first, it is my great honor to introduce you to the man who will introduce you to the revolutionary feature of this amzing cheese fondue fountain. Mr. Satoru Iwata!"
Iwata-San steps out of nowhere onto the stage in front of the cheese fondue fountain and waves, to the wild cheers of the audience. He then gestures to the fountain behind him with one hand, and pulls out a revolution controller with the other. And then he presses the power button.
As if by magic, an image appears on the face of the cheese as it flows down the fountain. It's Super Mario Bros. 3.
"Yes!" Wandering shouts. "The Nintendo Revolution's final secret...is that the system will come with a giant cheese fondue fountain on which you will play your games!" The audience gasps. Iwata turns the revmote sides and plays for a little bit, then stops, turns to the audience and smiles.
"Mr. Iwata, would you care to explain this?" Wandering asks.
Iwata-San does.....

I am pleased to announce the new name of our upcoming next-generation console: Nintendo FONDUELUTION. We believe that our new console will satisfy the urge both gamers and non-gamers have for products which are both fun and delicious.
That’s what’s important at Nintendo. Fun. Providing new, fun experiences for our costumers. Gamers and non-gamers. Young people and old people. But our competitors- like the mafia gangs making pornography for psps – go down different routes. They believe that, instead providing fun products for their costumers, that they should instead kill them. We do not believe this is a good strategy. Instead we believe in a “blue ocean” strategy, which involves us not killing our customers but instead killing our competitors.
But that is where we need your help. While we at Nintendo know exactly what you want and don’t like people to give us suggestions – this is a free marketplace. We cannot kill our competitors without your help. Which is why I’m asking you, tonight, to kill one such competitor: mafia member and pornography peddler vudu. Please go and vote for vudu immediately. Thank you.

Alright, looks like I'll have to spill the beans a little early.
Stab noticed it was a tie. Stepping out would make him an instant target for the Mafia. but he had to act... It was do-or-die time. He walked into the crowed and shouted.
"People, Wandering and I know of what is perhaps the last members of the Reggie Mafia! Earlier today, he private messaged me, asking if I had recieved a PM from UncleBob about Vudu. I had not; Wandering said that UncleBob told him that he though Vudu was mafia, but asked Wandering to start the vote. Fishy, wasn't it? He and I (but mostly he) figured out that UncleBob may be mafia with Vudu and trying to trap Wandering.
And so we decided that he would start the vote, and I would try to not get myself killed. We would see if the bandwagon worked. If it did, Vudu would be exposed and Wandering would be targeted by the mafia. If he was, UncleBob was also Mafia. I would merely let the word get out.
But now the trap will be sprung early! UncleBob, with no reasoning, has voted for Wandering after he started the vote! Why? He is Mafia with Vudu! Vote for Vudu and if he dies, I assure you he will be Mafia!
UncleBob's fate can be decided by the Vigilante. Perhaps."

Bob PM'd Wandering saying he suspected Vudu and asking him to start the vote, and said he had been asking others about it. Wandering PM'd me asking for confirmation of the PMing others, but I hadn't been PM'd. Then Wandering and I came up with our plan, then uncleBob voted against Wandering after seeing his Mafia Partner in danger. I'm sure eithe rWandering or I will not live to see tommorrow because of the mob.

Now see, this is where it gets interesting. wandering PM'd me *first* - out of the blue...
I had no proof that I had an ally. For all I know, wandering could very much be mafia trying to use me to help kill his competition....
...Nice job shooting yourself in the foot. Apparently, Wandering sent you what, five messages that seem to be responses. If you had written five responses to him, that's only 10 out of 25. What were those 15 used for, and why did yopu need space so badly?
To PM your mafia members! Heck, last game when I was mafia I filled up my PM box really quickly. Just like you did.

Right now, the vote is: VUDU - 2 DEGUELLO - 2 STEVEY - 1 WANDERING - 1
A simple vote could make the difference between three people possibly dying or just one...
Anywhoo, what reason was I given to believe that wandering was my ally? After all, all he did was want me to do stuff that could very possibly just get someone killed that would work into wandering's hands.
And the funny thing is, after tonight, someone's likly to kill either Stabby or me, just to make it all even more confusing.

Post by: wandering on February 23, 2006, 04:12:21 PM
I'm going to save face here by trying to do something really outrageous: I'm going to tell the truth.
Unclebob probably isn't mafia. Vudu is.
Unclebob voted for vudu. I thought he'd be willing to help take him out. Here was the plan: he'd start sending pms to people. Our ruse would be that he was the initiater - because he already was, in a sense, for voting for vudu. I didn't want to assume unnecessary risk. I finally got him to agree by promising I would be the one who made the first vote.
Then I contacted people. I asked them if they had gotten pms from bob. They hadn't. I began to suspect bob wasn't really on my side. Here's what I told stab:
Quote Hey, did you get a note from unclebob about vudu?
(stab said no, asked what the note said)
Quote Just that he suspects vudu and is planning on voting for him. But he wants me to vote on him first.
When I pmed him back, he said he was telling a bunch of people, so I thought it'd be okay to just get a second opinion. Interesting that he didn't pm you, though.
I'm kind of suspicious. I think he might be trying to set me up somehow.
But...vudu has been #1 on my suspects list for quite a while. What do you think?
Apart for the bit about unclebob contacting me/wanting me to vote first instead of the other way around, what I said was true. I did think unclebob had decided I wasn't trustworthy and was probably plotting some sort of bandwagon against me. (Based on his vote agasint me just now, I'd say I was right...although he says the vote against me was just another ruse.)
I never told stabby I thought unclebob was a mafia member. That was all him.
Well. That's the story. Everything's pretty much backfired on me. I think we're all pretty much dead now.
But maybe not. Here's the situation: Deguello is the latest patsy of the mafia. Vudu is a member of the mafia. And UncleBob....I have no idea what the hell UncleBob's doing.
Vote your conscience.
Title: RE: Mafia II: Day Four
Post by: vudu on February 23, 2006, 04:48:13 PM
Wow. A lot of people seem to be against me, even though not many are voting against me. It seems a very vocal minority wants me dead.
Well, let me tell you what I think. I think either UncleBob or Wandering are mafia. Maybe they both are mobsters in different gangs and they don't even know they're working together.
Regardless, I'm pretty sure I know one person who is certainly mafia. Deguello. Here are my reason: Pyro didn't pick our positions randomly--he chose them for us.
There were four people who survived the original game--Bill, Pale, IceCold and TVman. Bill's not playing this game. TVman turned out to be the cop. Pale and IceCold were Godfathers. He gave all the best positions to the people who won the last game. Mario, a forum favorite, was made the captain. Ty (a mod) was given the position of Freemason. None of Pyro's favorites were made townies.
I'm pretty sure I know who the vigilante is and it's not Deguello.
This means that Deguello (also a mod) is probably in one of the two mafias. It's possible that he's even the Rat. (Although, since this is his first time playing the game Pyro might not have trusted him with such an important position, "the star of the show" as he referred to the character.)
I guess my ultimate point is, I'm not mafia. The people who claim I am are either mistaken or lying. I'll let you decide which.
VOTE DEGUELLO

Trying to figure out who's who by psychonanalyzing pryo is pointless. TWO THIRDS of all the people who signed up got roles. There is absolutley no evidence that the selection wasn't random.
Deguello, the defacto mafia bid, got singled out because I pointed out he voted early/arbitrarily (and because stevey made an early revenge vote). You'll note that while the mafia jumped on the oppertunity I gave them, I haven't. That may have to do with the fact, that, among other things, vudu did the exact same thing when he voted on TVman the first day.

There are 4 mafia members and 4 votes for deg. I'm not saying everyone who has voted for deg at this point is a mafia member. What I am saying is that, in this point in the game, the mafia have the power to make it seem like something is a sure thing even when it's not.
Though it may not appear this way, the vote is still wide open at this point.

They wouldn't. It's the ramblings of a mad man. (Well, I guess they could be. But it seems highly unlikely.)
Quote I'm sorry, did Deguello survive the last game?
Did you even read my posts?
Three positions: Godfather #1, Godfather #2, Cop. Three members: Pale, IceCold, TVman.
I said Deguello is a mafia member because it's the only available position that's not taken by someone else and I don't think Pryo would have given Deguello the position of Townie. (For reasons listed above.)
Title: RE: Mafia II: Day Four
Post by: wandering on February 23, 2006, 05:32:31 PM
Quote Why would the two mafias be voting together?
Because deg is just a townie?
edit: but let's assume only one mafia is voting for him. Fine. That's 3 votes from the mafia. That means only one townie has voted for deg so far, and 2 have voted for vudu.
edit2:
Quote I said Deguello is a mafia member because it's the only available position that's not taken by someone else and I don't think Pryo would have given Deguello the position of Townie. (For reasons listed above.)
Except you didn't give any reasons above.
You said you think the 3 surviving players from last game were given the best roles, because you think godfather1, 2, and cop are the best roles. ...Now, arguably, the best roles this time around were the rat and the captain...but I'll leave that aside. Let's pretend this argument holds water for now.
Then you said you think pryo is giving all the mods roles because he gave ty one. This argument holds no water. Statisitcally, Ty, as well as every other player, was more likely to get a role than not. Therefore, one mod getting a role means diddly-squat as far as deguello is concerned.
If the best evidence you can come up with is that you think pryo might've been inclined to make deg a mafia member for whatever reason, you don't really have any evidence. I thought for sure pryo was going to make animecyberat the rat. He didn't.

Quote the Reggie Mafia - thus they'd lose - So why would the Reggie Mafia be interested in working with the Kaplan Mafia?
It's not a matter of "working with". The mafias make decisions seperatley, I assume. The reggies might jump on board with a townie because they thought it was the only way to defeat a bandwagon against one of their own. Or they might jump on board because they think someone is a kaplan even when they're not. Or the reggie mafia might not jump on board. It doesn't matter.
All I'm saying is that you can expect any canidate that isn't a mafia member to get 3-5 votes automatically.

Quote However, I'm still pretty sure we've got Deguello right. I'm 85% sure he's mafia.
And I'm 97.8% sure you're mafia and are lying through your teeth.
Bah. I talk and talk and no one listens.

DO NOT BELEIVE THE LIES.
You make me laugh, Wandering.
Mario made me, laugh too.
When he made up lies.
About vudu and mystic gohan.
Look where he ended up.
Dead.
The liars will be punished.
As will those who support them.
Because I'm always watching.
Be good!

"And the winner for Most Likely to be Mafia Award goes to," Judge Bob announced, "Stevey!!! Stevey, please step up and claim your bullet to the head!"
And so Stevey was brought upstage and quickly disposed of. Afterward, everyone in town started looting his house. Unfortunately, while everyone did find a lot of great stuff, no one found any sign of him being a member of Mafia. Shortly before leaving for home with all his possessions, everyone realized they'd got the wrong man. The pang of guilt, though, was easily assuaged by the vintage Beatles albums and fine china.
So, Stevey the townie may have died an innocent man, but at least he did not die in vain.
