Title: Which announcement would cause the biggest Ian Sane post?
Post by: Mario on February 20, 2006, 06:36:38 PM
My bet would be on a Super Mario Sunshine DS port announcement.

EDIT: Actually Luigi's Mansion 2 being the premiere Revolution launch title would top that.

3D original Super Mario Bros port as the sole Revolution launch title using only the motion sensing function, delayed to 3 months after Revolution launch, requiring you to buy a $44 accessory to work, being too big for the initial memory cards, without a demo disc, promised to have realistic graphics but turned cel-shaded, sequels already announced with no other Rev game in development, and no HD support.

Two Major Announcements from Nintendo:  Nintendo Cancels All Games--Will Only Publish Non-Games and New Game Announced By Nintendo Actually Does Nothing.

excerpt

Iwata announced that Nintendo's new non-game, "Meh," will not even turn on.  He elaborated, "It allows the non-gamer to decide on what non-game he or she would not like to play."

A two-stage theory.

Nintendo announces completion of every franchise and that each is to be retired.  Then announces several new games.

Initially, Ian will post one sentence of joy, but after that will write encyclopaedias about How Nintendo doesn't make any good games any more.

Ian's a mere bot, he won't post in here unless the thread title contains a keyword his automatic rage search will pick up, like 'Nintendogs', 'Revolution' or 'success'.

For the record, Ian is actually one of the most level-headed about the whole Wii thing.

But this post has the appearance of seriosity!  I think all Nintendo needs to do is announce that all new Wii games will be targeted for non-gamers and Mario will be in every game from now on.

Mario Fishing
Mario Chef
Pikmario 3: Collecting Coins
Mario Darts
F-Mario WX
Mario Piano Lessons
Super Mario Bus Stop

Edit: called it Revolution by accident.

In light of recent events, and after much thought, I think the following announcement would cause a rant of truly epic proportions:

Major third party publishers have begun to announce the cancellation of support for Nintendo's next generation console.  When asked, they universally claimed it was because of the official name change.  "We just can't publish an M- or even T-rated game on something called a Wii," said one anonymous source.  That sentiment was shared by others as well, such as the developer who claimed, "Nintendo is obviously aiming for a different target market than we know how to serve.  What that target is, I can't say."  When asked for comment, a Nintendo representative stated, "Wii understand that Wii is not for everyone.  Wii have a assembled a Dream Team of developers dedicated to providing innovative and fun ways to play with Wii's incredible new features."
