Post by: scalesojustice on January 13, 2006, 03:09:37 AM
given that ds has the ability to play gba games, i was wondering if anyone knew if the gba link cable to the gamecube works with the ds gba slot?

Sorry to bump this topic but has the link ability for the GBA games on the DS changed? This is really annoying. You'd think nintendo would have built in a virtual wifi link cable for GBA on the DS or something.

As Nintendo's "third pillar" console, the DS was meant to compliment the GBA, not replace it. Of course as GBA support slows down in favor of the monster that is the Nintendo DS, it looks like that "third pillar" will become the GBA's successor, at least in the short-term. Since the DS was never meant to replace the GBA, link functionality wasn't built-in and never will be.

yeah I guess I shouldn't complain too much.  I probably won't play the DS with anybody locally anyway as I don't know anybody else who owns one.
