Title: Rumble Pak
Post by: vudu on January 05, 2006, 11:42:42 AM
Has the DS Rumble Pak been confirmed to work with any games besides Metroid Prime Pinball and Mario & Luigi?

Has anyone used it for M&L?  Does it add anything meaningful to the game or does it just vibrate when you get hit?

Probably similar to the first M&L which used a rumble feature as well.  Maybe it's toned down since the motor is now drawing off battery power and not a continual source.

It fits in well with Mario & Luigi, and rumbles when you'd think it would.  Personally, I don't use the thing at all.  It makes a nice rumble SOUND in the cartridge, and its annoying as hell.

It sounds like one of those old printers. The actual shaking isnt even strong at all, but it kinda works. But not worth the purchase unless its free.

Wait...what?  There's no rumble reature in Superstar Saga.  Is there?

EDIT:  Oh...GBP.  I forgot about that thing.

Well, the Rumble Pak could be considered free, if you consider your entire purchase to be for Metroid Prime Pinball (assuming you got it with that, which unless Nintendo has started selling separately yet, is probably the case).  And I guess that's how they want you to perceive it anyway, even if you could be buying the Rumble Pak and getting the game for free.

The question is: is Metroid Prime Pinball worth it?  I love Metroid games but I wasn't sure if I should bother with this.  The Rumble Pak sounded like a nice bonus but now it doesn't sound that great, apparently, and even if I would like it, drawing back to the original question: will more games use it at all?

Nintendo's selling it separately on their online store for $10.
