Title: Wifi turns my DS into a PSP!

Well not really, but I've been dissapointed with the DS's battery life when playing on wifi.

Yesterday I used the system  for about 51/2 hours, 4 of the hours on wifi and I had to recharge again last night.

Has anyone else experienced this?

That's the fault of the WiFi standard, Nintendo implemented a custom format for local multiplayer for that reason.

That's why I have my DS plugged into the charger while I play online...

Yeah, it's not like you're going to be playing online on a road trip or something.  You play it in your house, maybe at a hotspot.

PSP battery life gets worse with Wi-Fi on too, think about how it feels on that front.

wow psp owners must be getting off quick if they're web acsess is limited by it's battery capacity!

Wifi always decreases battery life heavily.  I had a PDA for a short while that went from 8 hours of life to less than 2 with wifi.

4 hours is bad? That's about the time I normally get on my DS, I can't (wont)  play online at all unless it's plugged in, it could go at any moment.

4 hours? Is yours a launch system, because that's the only reasoning I can think of for that.  I usually get about 6 before the light turns red and then something around 30min. to an hour before it throws in the towel.  Now with Wi-Fi I've seen the battery light go red on me after 3 hours.

Yeah.  The PSP runs out of batterys in 2 hours if you watch a movie, and in wifi internet its only a few hours more.  What do you expect, man?  This thing with the power on an N 60 - freakin - 4 is racing people accross the world via wireless internet!  Of course it's gonna take more battery life!  But if you honestly play your DS so much that you have to charge it daily, consider giving your social life a good CPR session.
