Title: Settings for USB connector and ZoneAlarm?
Post by: Ghisy on December 11, 2005, 10:35:13 AM
Hey!

I'm having major problems with the Nintendo usb wi-fi connector and ZoneAlarm.
What I did so far, with no success to make it work:
- went to nintendowifi.com, added the designated ports as allowed on my firewall (UDP and TCP),
- went to zonelabs' forums (the editor of ZoneAlarm), tried all the settings some people gave,
- tried to configure my firewall myself manually.
The DS is "seen" by the Nintendo software registration tool but I always get an error 52003 and it says it can't get an IP.
Help, please?

I've always had trouble getting network connections to work with Zone Alarm :-/  You've probably already heard and tried this, but make sure the USB Connector is under "Trusted" in the Firewall Zones section and that Nintendo's software can both Access and act as a Server under Program control.

Error 52003: I've only tried this with Norton System works 2005

1) Open the program
2) Click on the "Options" tab
3) Scroll down to "Norton Antivirus" and click it
4) On the left-hand side under "Internet" click "Internet Worm Protection"
5) Under "How to Customize Your Settings" click "Program Control"
6) Click "Add"
7) Scroll until you find "WiFiConnector" then double-click it
8) Then double-click "NintendoWFCReg"
9) Once it has been added it should ask you whether or not to permit, click "Permit All"

A fix that's worked for a bunch of people at the nintendo.com forums with the same error code, not sure if this applies to you though.

There's more suggestions later on in this topic
