Title: Question about nicknames
Post by: stealthboy on November 18, 2005, 07:49:32 AM

Ok, so I already have a nickname that I put in my DS (in the settings).  Then I have a login name for the Nintendo web site.  Then I have what they call the "Screen Name" for the Nintendo site.  Are any of these used for the WiFi network?  Like what name is used when comparing scores, etc... or do I need yet another username???

Thanks,
Michael

Go to nintendowifi.com and click on the white bar that says link your WI-FI ID, and follow the instructions.  You are just going to use your WI-FI ID in conjuction with your Nintendo.com account.

When you start up Mario Kart, it will try to use the name already in your DS, but it will ask for you to approve or input a new name specific to Mario Kart that doesn't change your DS settings.

Your My Nintendo account name is never seen by anyone.  Your My Nintendo screen name only shows up on their message boards and such.

Interestingly enough, while your Mario Kart name shows up to others when you play, your DS name is what will show to others browsing the WFC site from the PC.
