1up brings up 23 odd similarities between the 360 and the Dreamcast.
I usually relate the 360 to the Saturn as the selling point for both consoles is increase in resolution. The Saturn was built for 2D games; the competition's consoles were built for 3D graphics and physics. The Saturn did nothing more than increase the number of pixels on screen.
Resolution matters little to me as I can't afford a three thousand dollar screen right now. I'm more worried about paying rent and buying my books for class.
Like the Saturn the 360 features a controller that is good at controlling games from the previous generation, but it lacks any next generation qualities. The Revolution is like the N64 which shipped with an analog stick on the controller. The Revolution's new 3D control mechanic will become the new standard and in five years Sony will answer the only way they know how by offering dual remotes.
I posted this on 1up.com, it went for seven pages before it died. I know its kinda preaching to the choir to show you guys the article, but you may find the similarities they point out to be interesting.

Saying that DC had a lot of great games, but no Halo 3 is fishing for reasons why the XB360 will succeed where. That's a very poor excuse to use.
The DC didn't have a lot of the games XB or XB360 had or will have, and it's irrelavent for them to even say that. I mean you could say the XB 360 is better than the NES because the NES didn't have Halo 3 either. 1up sucks anyways, nothing but Sony whores.

Those are some interesting coincidences. Though a chunk of them sound like Sony fanboy drivel. Reson 10 is a big load of BS, since both HD-DVD and Blu-ray are unproven as of this writing. Reason 14 is a bit of stretch, since bleemcast emulated something different.
I don't know where they got reason 23 from. The Metal Gear franchise has cooled down since then. It still commands respect, but has nowhere near the web prescense like the Halo's and GTA's of the world.
They should just change their name from 1-up, to ILOVESONY.com. It'd save them a lot of hassle.

I'm surprised there isn't a major site that rates MEDIA OUTLETS and their reviews.

The way I see it, PS3's MGS trailer didn't steal 360's hype; Nintendo's Revolution remote did.

Yeah love it or hate it, the Rev controller was the talk of the town real or internet.

Here one big thing the article says as to whyt the Xbox360 won't fail... MS has money and Sega was simply running out of cash when the PS2 came out.
Plus everyone who could understand the specs of both systems knew a day would come when the PS2 would do things the Dreamcast couldn't.
That day came when the MGS2 trailer was released....
