Title: Shenmue III: Am I dreaming...
Post by: Nile Boogie on October 24, 2005, 06:58:07 PM
if I think this game will come to the Revolution?  I am the biggest of Shenmue fans and it hurts like bad grades that they haven't finished the story. I need this game more so than any other game ever ( save for maybe TP) I heard some rumblings a few months ago and there seems to be a chance that the game may come to past. Do we have any chance? The Revolution seems so perfect for this game. The QTE's seem perfect for the Freehand controller. Someone tell me something good. Am I the only Shenmue/Nintendo fan out there?

I'm not sure.  Wasn't there a rumor floating around that Yu Suzuki left Sega?  Also, if it were to arrive on Revolution, will they release and port the others over because I haven't played part 1 and part 2.

I'm pretty sure there was some talk that the next game is in the planning stages, but who knows?  I'm afraid that if it is made they'll release it on Xbox 360, because Sega seems to love MS.  I think a lot of its games would do much better on Nintendo or even Sony than they do with Microsoft.

First of all, there is no chance in hell this game is coming to the REV. Sega hates Nintendo, they are mortal enemies no matter what. They are the first ones of start pulling their support of the Cube in early 2002 or 2003.

Sega's games sold like ass on Xbox; I don't know why they would want to supply MS with titles again.

Because MS gives them swimming pools full of money?

ms "hey heres 2  million"
sega "ok"

6  months later

sega "where  did  our 2 million  go"
ms "you  see  you spent it on advertising..which  we lied when  we  said we  would  supply"

Sega and MS were partners for a long time and I think that influenced Sega's decisions somewhat.  Maybe Microsoft handed them some money, too, but I'm not sure about that: Sega has released many exclusives on all three systems.  I totally agree Sega should be looking at supporting the other consoles more than Xbox and Xbox 360, and I think Shenmue would probably sell best on Revolution if a new game is made - but that depends on how things pan out with the sales of all three new systems.

Sure, Sega released many exclusives, many of which (despite their high profile) BOMBED more frequently on one platform than the other two.  Guess which platform.

"Sega loves Nintendo"

Fixed! If sega hated nintendo why did they help make game f-zero and I remember sega sating that there be 7~9 shenmus games and 3 even thou they count say much but it would blow away people and be played in new ways. If that dosen't scream the revo ...

Supposedly, the rumor now is that they are going to release Shenmue 1, 2, and 3 as a single game on the Xbox360, and quite possibly the other next gen consoles.

Just a rumor, though.

First of all, all Sega did was take Nintendo's franchise, and continued on it. Second of all, Sega's out of the business of consoles, and people are mad, now they want Nintendo out of the business. Many of the people who claims Nintendo would go third party are Sega fans who wish to see the same fate happen to Nintendo.

And finally, one crappy game is what you call love from Sega? Again, you failed to mention that Sega was the first to start pulling games from the GC with their sports line-up. Then released Monkey Balls 3 or whatever on every system except the GC.

It wasn't SMB3.  It was SMB "Deluxe," just a compilation of the first 2 monkey balls.

And surprise, SMB2 on GC continues to outsell them on either platform.  Sega was simply desperate for revenue via ports.

Beach Spikers deserved more love tho...

Heh, only the stupid Sega fans want that.

The smart ones know it was Sony's fault the DC failed. XD

Well, that, and Sega making consecutive bad decisions about their consoles.

...but we like to think it was mostly Sony. =P

SEGA is the most useless company in video game history. Always have been, always will be.

Here's a little bit of history...

MS has been working with Sega since about 1995(SegaSoft).
MS helped Sega a lot during the Dreamcast era(Windows CE).

Sega's current game dump on the XBox is b/c of this
relationship.

I hope Nintendo gives Sega a money hat just for shenmue 3. I think on revolution with such a detailed and intricate game with the new badass controls. (id make it like a cross of old shenmue, and re4 with aiming while moving..rather then holding still with r.)

if i  were m aking the g ame i   would use the  d-pad  like  face buttons...A for  context....the stick for  movement  re4  style  and  the  tilt  function for  camera...holding B  makes  you zoom...actually  it seems  as  though  revolution  has  more buttons  available  then gamecube!!!!

hmmm... if memory serves me Segasoft and sega had no relations, despite the misleading name of that dev team. they where into other games as well besides sega.

I believe they made Three dirty Dwarves..? I think it was.
