Title: So Midway Arcade Treasures 3 is out...
Post by: Bartman3010 on September 28, 2005, 07:44:06 AM
For PS2 and XBox, GCN gets the shaft yet again with a delay slated for October 24th!

So we're getting the sh*t version? Or what? WHats gonna happen?

Are there any reviews yet?  These are mostly steering wheel games so I want to know how well they've adapted to using a normal controller.  The Sprint games on the other collections controlled terribly and they were steering wheel games so there's some concern over Midway's porting efforts.

It does suck that we're getting it later but at least we're getting it.  Capcom has made one of the coolest collections ever and we get none of it!

I think this is the greatest collection disc ever made. take the only thing this country does well and throw it all onto one disc.  it's awesome.

IGN and Gamespot reviewed it.

The guy from IGN is obviously happity for Rush 2049

Gamespot doesnt go into depth about the games.

Unfortunatley, this collection doesnt sound so hot. Rush 2049 and Hydro Thunder are the Dreamcast versions. Nothing wrong for Rush, the best game in the collection, but Hydro Thunder for DC only went up to 2 players. AND GUESS WHAT??! 2 PLAYERS ONLY HERE, TOO!

Games that did not see home console versions like Rush the Rock and Offroad Thunder are ported from the arcade edition, no multiplayer whatsoever. No splitscreen, no LAN, nothing! Not even for PS2 or XBox. Absolute laziness here.

It'd be nice if the GCN version was delayed to include the Cruis'n games, despite how disappointing the collection is, already.

Hey, that's a cool idea. Considering the cruisin' games ONLY came out console-wise on nintendo 64. It would only make sense to give a finger to PS2/XBX exclusive owners, and give the nintendo boys something of their own.

And thus my raid of posting in every thread on the page ends here, as I know nothing of this game.

Edit: Or so you'd think.

Err... Are you sure it's delayed?  Because I could have *sworn* we had it at my Wal-Mart...

They're all freaking Dreamcast ports! Well, all the newest games are anyway, which sucks. You don't get that true arcade feel, I played the collection for XBox...3 out of 10. Weak. MAT2 was much better, had real extras, and were actually the arcade versions of the games.

no, some of them are arcade ports, only 2 of them are dreamcast ports.  the other 6 are arcade ports.

If Midway were cool, they'd include the three Crusin' games in the GC version.

But they're not.

And they won't.

I hear the beefed up frame rate messes with the clock in the original Rush. =\

I got the PS2 version, simply because I didn't know the cube version was eventually coming.

However, it was well worth the $20 to be able to play Rush 2049 again, damn I love that game...and most of the framerate issues were fixed.

I've also found badlands to be rather entertaining, and Hydro Thunder to be somewhat dissapointing compared to my nostalgic rememberances of the arcade version.

So now we're getting close to the release for the GCN and...theres very little info out for it. Hope it hasnt suffered from any compression issues....

Midway done screwed up again...

http://cube.ign.com/articles/661/661435p1.html

Horrible lag in Rush 2049's multiplayer and noticable framerate issues in the 3D games. As well as Rush the Rock isnt a solid 60 frames per second here.

Seriously, Midway, go to hell.

Wow, Rush 2049's multiplayer runs slower than the Dreamcast version's. This is horribly pathetic. Its like...15 frames per second or something, its snail racing...
