Title: Gyroscope Idea
Post by: raptorspike on September 01, 2005, 12:26:45 PM
I thought off a cool idea should there be gyroscopes in the Rev controller. Say SoulCaliber 3 comes to the rev. the action buttons could be assigned to control an arm or leg, and the gyros could be used for the intensity of the blow. So press the button for left arm and swing the controller for a big swing, then tap the button for a foot and twitch the controller for a flick. Any responses?

...or you could just press the punch or kick buttons. I don't think that sounds very safe.

ok, maybe the whole big swing thing sounds dangerous. How about just simple turns on the vertical and horizontal axes

How about swinging the controller up to the mouth to make the character take a drink of orange juice. This could also be implemented for apple juice.......

Meh. Not for fighting games. At least not for traditional ones designed for button combos. I'd say more for FPSes where each gyro controls a gun or in a vehicle where one controls the wheel and the other a gun

It would be best used to execute moves that would more difficult with standard buttons. For instance, a quick jerk of the controller backwards could cause your fighter to make a sudden retreat or a quick jerk forward could execute a grab move at close range. You could do both while still concentrating your fingers on the punch and kick buttons.
