Title: X360 Commercial?
Post by: NRevolutionR on August 31, 2005, 08:53:32 AM: Ok, I was watching TV the other day and ran across a co-promotional ad for the 360 and Mountain Dew. The thing that I am wondering is does this upset any of you, and do you feel like Nintendo would never get this type of good early advertising? I mean come on. It's still months away from launching.

It doesn't matter to me. It's logical advertising. Nintendo should do something similar. Nintendo would only never get this kind of good early advertising because they would choose not to pursue it. But if Nintendo wanted some "win a Revolution" promotion with with Coke or McDonald's or something to tie in with the Rev launch they could do it.

Post by: Caliban on August 31, 2005, 06:51:13 PM: Today I saw a commercial for the GameBoy Micro in conjuction with MuchMusic (for those that don't know MuchMusic is the Canadian equivalent of MTV). If you are worried that Nintendo doesn't do such early publicity then for now don't be. The commercial was wicked wierd btw.

They mentioned it twice at the beginning of the commercial, didn't show the system, didn't show the logo, didn't show anything. It was a Mountain Dew commercial that happened to mention the X-Box 360's they were giving away.

At the end, does it say "Too Much Fun" and then the Nintendo logo? Because those are the NOC commercials, or they used to be quite recently (haven't seen one lately - the last one was an ad about the DS with a guy using his finger to move the sun down and doing other stuff to advertise the touchscreen - pretty good actually).

There is also another mark sometimes to tell if it's an NOC ad, but I've forgotten it (haven't seen it for a while). Anyway, did you see that at the end?
