That's much better, why can't they make the Nintendogs one more like this...just replace the tanks with dogs and the generals with frisbees.

after you see commercials like this or the very first DS commercials and then see the Nintendogs ad one can no longer doubt NoA's marketing department is bipolar or something like that.

Or is merely the result of aiming ads at different demographics...

All right, I finally downloaded the commercial, and it is in fact the funniest commercial ever. I mean, EVAR! It's as good as the Nintendogs commercial is bad. I can only conclude that this commercial was conceived and made without any 'creative' input from NOA themselves. Does anyone know who is making these commercials? Seems to be the same people who made the generic WiFi commercial, which isn't that good, but it looks like the concept can be integrated with specific game ads well enough.
Damn funny. Kudos to the guys and gals who made this.
Edit: Does anyone know where the commercial can be had in non-WMV?

Ask Berto2K nicely (since he was the one who captured the commercial) if he could, but other than that, there's no other place to find it...

Thanks, and will do. I think 'Mad Pointing Officer-Type Man' could easily succeed Wall Man for some chopping hilarity. Or at least a new avatar. It's time for Björk Fils-Aime to go, sadly.

Am I the only one who can't get this video to work? It goes to a weird text window every time I try to open it and kills Firefox.

You need to save the file to your harddrive...It'll say it's saving as a textfile, but it's LYING...(Blame Berto)

Displaying the file as text is not a firefox problem. It's a server config issue with a one line fix. Saving the target to disk will work fine. (Your "Save link As")
Edit: I'm know a few people who uninstall firefox simply because they thought something like this was it's "problem", so I'm just trying to clear the air and set it straight.

Opera behaves the same way. Well, what should it do when the server says "here comes a text file" and starts sending binary?

Firefox attacks from the land, IE strikes from the air.

That's a really good commercial.
I would say that NOA knows as much about how to sell "play fighting" as they don't know about selling cute little puppy dogs. And that's a lot.

You know, maybe the Nintendogs commercial is to advertise Advance Wars DS.
"What is this crap?"
"Now THAT game looks cool!"

That's a good theory. Since Nintendogs is a 'guaranteed seller', they can afford to sabotage some early sales to help out a game that needs more promotion, and get those sales back at Christmas. Of course that follows the line of thinking that Nintendogs is totally da bomb and every hip playa will need a copy. We'll see how that pans out....

Guranteed seller??? Noone's going to buy it without advertising because only the regular gamers know about the game's existence.
