Title: High School Graduation day
Post by: Flames_of_chaos on June 23, 2005, 05:51:28 PM
Today was my high school graduation, I had a real fun time after the graduation hugging everybody and giving my friends best wishes in life. And I was happy when all my friends yelled my name, clapped when my name was announced to get my diploma. for all the good times '05!

I do too...I thought college was so far away back when I was in high school, and WHAT THE HECK I'm already halfway through college! ;_;

Be sure to enjoy your youth while it lasts, L_d_s...

I've now been out of high school longer than I was in high school.  In Canada high school is grade 8-12, five years.  I graduated in 1999 and now it's 2005 so it's been six years.  I'm closer to a ten year reunion than to my grad.  A few years ago that seemed weird.  When my younger brother graduated I was surprised that it had been three years since grad.  Now though I've been out of school long enough and my life's changed enough that high school seems like a distant memory.  Originally non-school life seemed odd but the routine's changed enough that going back to school would be odd.  I don't miss school life anymore.  No more tests or homework.  It's actually pretty f*cking sweet.

How the heck did you finish grad school when you're six months younger than me?  What did you major in, if you don't mind me asking?

Myself, I graduated May 23, 1996, which also happened to be Bill's 10th birthday.   My senior year was also the shortest school year for a senion class because we had a lot of snow and probably missed a third of the school year.  Also it was the following year, class of 1997, the fixed it so snow days were built better into the schedule so there wasn't a repeat.  Also my class was the last class to be able to graduate in my county without having to do the "MANDATORY" volunteer work to get a diploma.

I never went to college, didn't start working until December 1999.  I didn't do a damn thing between school and starting work.  I was LAZY.

I graduated six months ago. It was a particuarly weak ceremony and I almost fell asleep, I proabbly would've if it wern't for the pathetic sobbing of the girls near me. I mean come one, we all had to come back for exams in a few weeks and then get drunk togethor after that. Weak.

Nitsu you are a role model to us all.

I was once a fool....
Centuries have passed since then
(ok, 13 years - Started HS in 1992)
and I have learned much since

Colleges and Tech schools have real benefit.  Masters degree or even PhD is very useful or practically required for some fields, PhD if you want to teach at a higher level.

Not all schools carry the same level of graduate course work either.  Just because they have a good undergrad program doesn't mean they have a good graduate one as well.  Research undergrad and grad schools separately.

I graduated on June 7th, already seems like a long time ago.  Then my 18th birthday was on June 9th, needless to say that was a big week for me.  I probably would have fallen asleep at our ceremony if it weren't for two things, 1 Small class, 2 That gym had no AC, and it was hot as hell in those robes.  (Go class of 05).

I graduated last year.  Went to a 4 year school, but hated my major and didn't care for a lot of my classmates, so I transfered back to a 2 year school to get the major part right.  Now that I am at this school, it feels uncomfortably like highschool and I really dislike it.  Once out of high school, college feels so much more free.  Even though I am less free, maybe it's the lack of bells.  Or that I can run or bike between classes.  Whatever it is, enjoy, L_d_s.

If I told anyone my real age no one would ever talk to me on this board again.
