Title: Retro MultiDeving?
Post by: ThePerm on May 15, 2005, 07:49:01 PM
it could be very possible that retro is making more than one game for revolution. I think the time is right and Nintendo trusts the team enough that it will be able to make mroe than one game at any one time. Plus if i remember my news correctly..Retro was facing a massive expansion.

Well there *is* the possibility they could be handling a late GC and/or DS project as well...

It would seem find of a waste for Retro to only work on one game at a time. If they stick with that kind of schedule realistically they won't get a chance to work on anything but Metroid. And Retro is one of Nintendo's biggest advantages. They make games that are amazing but are also cool. Nintendo should be trying to get as many games out of them as they can.

Honestly Retro is quite impressive allright after all they made a pact with the devil and Metroid in 3D turned out very well. I really enjoyed the Metroid Prime games however I really dont know much about Retro other than that. What I'm saying is they dont have much of a reputation other besides Metroid I'm aware of. I would like another Metroid Prime game cause they are really good and Samus has not figured out the origin of Phazon yet. Anyways what else has Retro worked on before Metroid?

nothing...Retro didnt exist. They were founded by Jeff Spangleburg(an ex acclaim exec) with some money from nintendo. Anyways when they started they were making four games all for Dolphin(Ravenblade, Metroid(or something similar), a twisted metal clone, and a footbal game). Nintendo finaly gave them the metroid license and they worked away. A prototype version of Metroid was shown and most hated it. Anyways they were botching up and Nintendo did not like it. Half the employees of the company were fired. Including Mr. Spangleberg. Soon after Nintendo sent in some corperate guys to clean house reggie style. A year later Metroid was released and got solid reviews across the board.

Um uh yeah..okay! You know Perm ever since you ask me to join pgc I notiiced everybody gots this Reggie fever. That Reggie sure says ass alot, I'm surprised he doesnt do his interview or walks on stage in front of a press release and talk with his ass. You know like Jim Carrey in Ace Ventura. That Ian Sane guys Avatar matches the tone of his post. Even though I might not agree with him at times his post are interesting to read even that Younger Plumber. Oh wait This post has nothing to do with this topic I sure ramble alot.

I wouldn't be surprised that Retro hired big time and that a lot of those newly hired people worked on some high-profile games. The "screw you EA/THQ/Activision/*any other third party thats famous of making a lot of sequels*, i quit" atmosphere is getting more and more tense these days. I hope they pick up that nice looking RPG out of the archives and are making a new FPS... a new metroid can wait for another 2 years.

Raven Blade is dead, dead I say! But yes, I think/hope Retro is working on more than one game now. Metroid plus something new would be ideal in my opinion.

People always ask what Retro is doing... I bet if they had some incomprehensible acronym as a name noone would ask.

Retro is working on Zelda with Silicon Knights, duhhhhh
Things are just taking longer than usual cuz Retro's leadership bailed out the office and SK is still trying to figure out the Unreal engine to run PSP code on the Wii Fit.

Bingo. They definitely are working on something, because no studio gets paid to do nothing.... but if its only been a year odds are the game is too immature to reveal anything just yet.
I only hope that whatever it is it isn't Metroid Prime 4....
