Title: Tetrisphere
Post by: JSR on February 17, 2003, 09:34:00 AM
Did anyone play this game back on the N64? I owned it and loved it. In case you don’t know: Tetrisphere is a puzzle game. You were a robot and you tried to match pieces on a giant sphere. Basically it’s a 3D Tetris. The game was developed by H2O and published by Nintendo.

I know this is farfetched, but does anyone know if there’s a sequel in the works? I’d love to see one!

Yeah, Tetrisphere owns.  Awesome game.   However there won't be a sequel because a) THQ now owns the rights to Tetris, and b) I believe H2O closed up shop.

Oh well...

Did anyone else like Tetrisphere?

I only rented it, but I thought it was fun!  I never got to a good understanding of the game having played it so little, but I liked it.  Another game that I just loved, once you REALLY dig into it and figure it out, was Wetrix+ on the Dreamcast.  Really creative and fun puzzle game.

Yes, I quite enjoyed Tetrisphere, but mainly for the music. The quality of those thumping tunes was quite amazing for a catridge.
I always prefered The New Tetris for my block rotating fun on the '64.

Sean, Wetrix (I played the N64 version) was a rather funky puzzle game. It's not often you find people who actually played this gem!

Tetrisphere actually started as a Jaguar game.

Ah yes, I still own this game, it was awesome!  It's too bad it didn't do better, because I thought this was an excellent concept for a 3D puzzle game.  A little too complicated for some people, I guess, but I thought it was perfect.

I'm so glad that other people have played and enjoyed this game.

I rented it on a whim years ago and fell in love with it.  It became commonplace for me to rent it about once a month.  One day, I found it at Wal-Mart marked down to $9.99, and I picked it up.  I still play it pretty regularly.

*sigh*  What a great game.

I never had a chance to play Wetrix. But my friend did and he said that it was lots of fun.

Tetrisphere is teh r0x0rz.  Yeah, I find that I dont' enjoy regular Tetris anymore because it gets really monotonous and tedious after a couple hours on the same game, and I like some of the "spin-offs" a lot better, like Tetris Attack and Tetrisphere.  Actually, I don't like falling block type puzzle games and greatly prefer rising block ala Bust A Move, Tetris Attack, and Yoshi's Cookie.  The first game I snagged for my newly bought cheapo Dreamcast was Wetrix+ because I'd heard so many good things about it, but I could never figure out a workable strategy.  I traded it back in so I could use the money towards Skies of Arcadia Legends, but if I can figure it out, I may pick it up again later.
