Title: Warioware DS demo
Post by: greenwood on April 09, 2005, 11:01:03 PM
Hey, I need a quick hand. My cousin was at Wal-Mart where they have the Warioware DS demo. She claimed that she wasn't able to get past the Start screen no matter what she did. So is there something special you're supposed to do to play or is she just BSing me and doesn't know what she's talking about? Thanks.

Does she know that she can touch the screen?

One of the demo DS units here (or the game itself) in Game in Victoria is partially broken, it doesn't register touch on the lower screen on the start of Wario Ware either.

I've come across a couple of DS display units that appear to have some sort of touchscreen malfunction, and yes, despite the fact the touch screen registers on previous screens, I can't get it to register on the "Start" button. Not sure why, because I know they've worked before, but I'm leaning towards screen abuse from idiots. I've even seen one where the touch screen was smashed with a hammer O.O

Anyone who has ever seen the condition of those demo units wouldn't be surprised...

Try reconfiguring the touch sensors in the DS menu.

I also came accross one of these such demos (an abused one that is) and it wouldn't let me into the menu, when I powered it off and back on the demo took over right away and I had no control.

Well, I went down there myself and it was exactly as joshnickerson described it. The screen registered touches on the initial screens (warnings and such) up until the Warioware Start screen. Then, I got nothing. I tried to get into the menu but it wouldn't let me, the demo started right up.
The bottom screen's not too bad, it only has maybe 3 or 4 real scratches, which I think is not too bad considering it's been up since launch and Metroid was the previous demo.
