Ever since the day EGM told us we could play as past Bonds on Goldeneye the April Fools joke has become a holiday of misinformation in the gaming industry.  This year it seems to have truly grown with stories that gamers dream of happening.  Some of those dreams could be nightmares, like the one about the Metroid movie.  That one was scary.

My favorite this year has to be the one about Ubisoft buying Rare from MS, and Nintendo attaining exclusive rights to GTA for Revolution.  What a fantasy.  I almost fell for it too.

I loved the GameSpot Katamari Damacy movie starring The Rock and directed by John Woo.  Also, the Clippy the Office Assistant Platformer for the Next-Generation Xbox.  Oh, and the special "Shrek 2 Edition" of Soul Calibur 2 for GameCube made me laugh, too.

Clippy deserves his own game! Well, maybe not, it'd be a bit disappointing if you couldn't kill Jar Jar as well...

IGN-PSP actually got me with their report on Metal Gear Coitus, an offbeat Tokimeki Memorial-style game starring Snake.

I wasn't really paying attention, and momentarily forgot that there's absolutely zero chance in hell that we're ever going to see a TokiMemo game in America, on any console, which... has almost no bearing on a game like this getting announced in Japan.

I finally clued in when I saw the screenshot, and I almost laughed out loud.
