Title: Touch screen recalibration?
Post by: joshnickerson on March 02, 2005, 04:04:22 PM
Okay, I was fooling around with the DS unit at Wal-mart, and for some reason the stylus won't work in Wario Ware. Curious, turned it off and booted back to the main menu and tried out Pictochat. There I discovered that when I tapped the screen, it would active a point about an inch away from where I tapped. Funky.
So can this happen? And is there a way to correct this? I figured it was probably from some idiot kid banging on it or something.

There's a calibration option in the menu.

As far as store units are concerned, most of the ones I've seen have been abused to the point where calibration doesn't work properly. I believe it can happen infrequently though, I had the touchscreen react a little bit off of the tip of the stylus, but once I sent it through calibration it was fine. PDA's have this option as well, every once in a while the screen may get "offsync".
