That's your problem.  Stop thinking about it like an analog stick, that's not what control S represents.  It's way more akin to mouse-keyboard control.  I dunno, maybe it's because I draw, sketch, and design for a living or something, but there's NO way I'd use the thumbstrap for that game ever.  I feel it restricts your movement too much.   That and you can't beat the precision.

I'm not really into First Hunt, but the few times I did play, I enjoyed the stylus mode more than the others. Of course, I don't know how well it would work when it's not attached to a store rack.

I prefer the tumbstrap.

While the stylus isn't bad, I hate how you automatically shoot when you touch the screen.  It makes going for a high score really hard because if you need to turn around you can't without shooting and killing your multiplier.  If Nintendo changes it so when you touch the screen and don't remove the stylus you don't shoot the control method might be do-able.

The thymbstrap allows you to balance the system in two hands so it doesnt feel so awkward.  When using the stylus it hurts my hand playing for extended periods of time.

Urk... Thumbstrap for absolute controls? I've tried playing Quake like that, let's stay with the strap for relative controls and the pen for absolute controls.

Anybody using DL/DR or TL/TR are pretty much free kills for anyone in multiplayer.  I'll even tell people to play with Control S, but they always say something like "it's not like an analog stick, i can't play it." so instead they usually end up selecting Control DL/DR and wonder why the score's like 20, 0, 8, and 10 with them getting 0.
