Title: I want to start a club
Post by: ThePerm on February 07, 2005, 03:57:19 AM
I want to start a video game club. Imagine an international video game club. Heres how it works. We pay a small monthly due of 5 bucks a month for all of its members. We take these 5 bucks from each person and buy games and systems which the group owns collectively. Then we have tournaments and even conventions depending on how big our groups grow.

Erm, how would that work? I mean physically. Unless you mean PC games and playing them online.

This would never work. It requires all parties invloved to be completely honest, which we know is impossible. Plus, even IF everyone was honest, I doubt there's be a good time and place to hold offline tournament that any significant amount of people could attend.
Sounds like you just want my money

naysayers, no i pretty much figured i would do it when i moved to tuscan. What i would do is stick up flyers around the college campus of u of a. Colleges have bulliten boards. First i would throw like a party with an entrance fee. After that i would take that money and found the club. I'm sure i would find some video game lovers. Then we would hold meetings monthly. We would start out at respective members houses. Alternating monthly until we find a place where we can meet normaly. I didnt mean with you guys, but then again if i could figure out how to do a cell structure where we have different groups within the same club but in different areas of the world that would work.

Ah...so you mean you want to start a local club and you were just coming here to tell all of us for no reason in particular. That makes a little more sense. It wouldn't do me much good if I owned one tenth of a game when the disc was located in AZ and I'm in IL.

The way I'd start a club is first I'd get some bread, then some cheese, and ham, and then I'd. . .Oh wait, that's a sandwich. Never mind!

Did something similar to this for a while here. We had 20 or so guys and we paid dues for a while and got games and network equipment and stuff. Group owned it all. We had weekly parties. Basically you idea takes this and mixes it with the idea of a group like the boy scouts. It could work. But would take some doing.

Actually, setting it up just like the boy scouts could work. But it'd be hard to get it off the gound without sponsoring of some sort.
