Does anyone know if this will be released on the cube? if it isn't, I am going to be very pissed, as I am really looking forward to this.

There is nothing to confirm or deny this at this point. It's probably not due out for another year anyway.

Yeah, I wouldn't expect an AFL game this year, as the deal was just struck and there was probably no intentions of such a game anyway, so they still have a lot of work to do.

Can people please be more clear about the things? I saw AFL and thought "Cool, an new Australian Rules game". After a Google search for the game, it turns it it's just some backwater gridiron league or something.

Considering AFL is an Australian sport and the GameCube is dead in Australia, my best guess is no.

For one, Procession: the AFL is not a backwater version of football. It's a league centered around the fans and players being able to play, not just sit on the bench.
And Mario, we are talking about the Arena Football League, not Aussie football.

Besides it was Acclaim who had the official AFL rights. EA will pick them back up sooner or later.
No one is interested in America's pissy Arena football.

For one RABicle, EA already has the rights to AFL games.
And as for the popularity. they must be pretty popular if they sell most of their games' tickets, and have a tv deal.

I think he meant Accalaim had the rights for AUSTRALIAN RULES FOOTBALL.....I was surprised and dissapointed Aussie rules never made it to GC...Even though they were one of the major sponsors in 2003 ..
