Title: Can't unlock Power Flowers
Post by: ChristopherTD on January 17, 2005, 02:49:05 AM
I have collected 31 stars in Super Mario 64 DS but I can't unlock the invisible ? Power Boxes.
When I stand in the beam of light in the castle foyer and press "A" I "hear a voice calling". But I can't do anything - I don't get pulled into a new level.
Is there any trick to this?
Thanks Christopher

Yeppers, look up into the clouds on the ceiling for maximum fun and profit.

I may be incredibly dense, but I don't seem to be able to do that. Do I press Up on the DPAD, or use camera controls. I have tried pressing pretty much every button and nothing happens.

Go into first-person view and make Mario look up towards the ceiling.

Sorry, but I have one more question - how do you get into first person view?
I have lost the manual, and I have never played a Mario game before, so some things that may seem incredibly obvious aren't at all to me!
(Apologies if this is shown on the Change Controller Mode page - I am at work and the DS isn't)

You couldn't just try to smash all the buttons to see how to do it?
Press X until the camera comes up right behind your character's head...

Thanks - I will try that. I was sure I tried all the buttons, but perhaps not enough times.

Ah, all is now clear. In touch mode you have to tap the icon in the bottom right corner of the touch screen, then rotate the view.
No keys work!
Thanks for all the tips - they made the difference...
