Monster Hunter for PS2 from Capcom. Looks awfully familiar.

Except for the fact that no one appears to fly in this game, and it looks to be a completely different genre of game.
In other words, no. Is it using the same engine? Maybe, but it looks to have no other relation to the now dead "Dead Phoenix".

monster hunter and dead phoenix aren't even in the same genre. Dead phoenix was a on rails shooter, while monster hunter is an MMORPG of some sort.

Meh. I just saw some dragons and figured it was the same thing. Did they ever show video of Dead Phoenix? I don't remember there ever being any solid information about it.

Yes, there was video. The dude flew around like Rogue Leader, didn't have the impression of being on-rails, but take out the X-Wing and insert Harvey Birdman.

Ha ha ha. Actually, I can see the resemblance soemwhat, the perspective is similar, but I agree that the genre seems too different for it to be the same game.
