Title: PAL RGB cable?

Does the PAL RGB cable for the Cube bring any advantages? Does the official one do stuff the third party ones don't? The manuals claim PAL60 only works with the RGB cable but I've been able to get the 60Hz mode with any cable, is there a difference in the output signal with the official RGB cables? Is the standard 60Hz mode NTSC and the RGB 60Hz mode PAL60 or something?
I'm asking because I saw a stack of first party ones for 4EUR each but I already have a third party one.
