What do you guys think of this game?

Personally I find it to be the best PS2 game so far, complete redemption after a disappointing part 2.

I'm up to the Sorrow now, but I can't play it again for a while... so close and yet so far.

I really like it even if they made it more realistic to a point. I just find it annoying that your suppressors degrade. Good job Konami you redeemed your selves (well until they made  Metal Gear Acid )

yeah paladin you're close to the end of the game
but yeah metal gear solid 3 is one of the best games i have ever played
the gameplay is even better with the camo % and all the little things added
the story is really good and its amazing to see how it all pulls together

but i think i was suprised at the presentation the most - especially the 'james bond' feel of the game - people that have played it have probably seen the little touches like a bond movie - the theme song for the game is nothing short of amazing and is probably the best made for videogame song ever - but yeah the only unfortunate part of the game for me is that it had to end - one of the best games of this generation (in my opinion)

MGS3 is a good game but it gets old once you figure out the levels, because "that's it".  Also the boss fights for the most part are pathetically easy.   Also the control over Snake isn't that great.   There was some low points but they are few and far between.  The caves had to be the worst and one of the ugliest levels in the game, many of the later game levels are really ugly and colorless, even the base at the end of the game.

Also the control over snake in third person makes it impossible to aim accurately and being unable to move in first person mode sucks hardcore.  How you can say MGS3 is the best game you ever played is stupid, there are far better games out there.
