Title: NDS Battery Question
Post by: DemonFox on December 11, 2004, 03:29:32 PM
Hi I live in Europe and I'll get my American DS pretty soon now. I was wondering... what if I put a European battery (one from a GBA SP, that is) in an American DS and charge it with a European adapter, will it work? Or will I just blow up my DS? Cuz if it doesn't work I'll just get me one of those GBA SP Multi-Volt adapter thingies.

The GBA SP and DS use the same adapter, so they feed off the same voltage.  However the batteries can be and likely are different.

What you should do is just use your European SP adapter to charge the DS too.  Leave the DS with it's original battery.

My $0.02 (which is a little less than EUR 0.02, but I'll have to do )

According to Lik-Sang you can fit a GBASP battery into a DS by sawing off certain bits. The DS battery has more capacity, though. Just make sure you charge the DS with a GBA charger for your region, the battery doesn't matter.

Yup, that's what I do! Well, I live in Europe and use the US SP adapter but it's the same!
DemonFox, you don't have to worry, SP AC adapter works like a charm with the DS!

So...  if I get this right...
I can just leave the battery in there and use a European SP adapter to charge my DS?
