YES, finally, i've been waiting for a proper Kirby game on GC for ages. So this is what HAL's been up to.
edit: change IGN link to PGC, didn't notice PGC had the screens

I kind of regret not getting Kirby 64, but at least I can make up for it by getting this one! ^_^
(Hopefully they expand on the minigames that were in Kirby 64 and make more and better ones)

Yeah, I should of got Kirby 64 while I had the chance. Now it's GONE FOREVER. Oh well. I love the Kirby games, HAL rocks.

Did Nintendo send those shots? They look terrible. Considering that it's a common misconception that the Cube is graphically underpowered you figure that Nintendo would make an effort to provide high quality screenshots.

Personally I think they look better than the new Zelda shots, but I'd think it's common knowledge to never trust screenies...

A fluffy pink blob isn't exactly aching for Resident Evil 4-levels of detail.

Yeah, but they could at least make it look really nice fore the screenshots. An enemy Kiby has spat out bowling over a dozen others, each of which have their own little rainbow trail, all set in front of a waterfall with geometry, not just textures for its detail.

So why is it that Nintendo always waits to near the end of its console's life to release a real kirby game? This looks pretty cool, though.

Come on, don't write off the GC as near its end, as there is still almost 2 years till the Rev comes out... :\

Don't act like Kirby will be coming out tomorrow either...

I really hope HAL builds upon more elements from Kirby's Superstar this time. The huge number of different attacks, and the 2-player helper system made Superstar easily my favourite co-op game of all time.

GC has barely been out for 3 years (only 2 years in PAL territories), it's hardly near the end of its life. All these games coming soon just re-enforce that statement.
Kirby games generally aren't graphical powerhouses, and I imagine this game looks better in motion.

I'm hoping that Waddle Dee(?) following Kirby so closely in that pic is some proof to Kirby GC being a kin to Kirby Superstar. That game was great. Hopefully we'll see some new powers in this Kirby.

The game looks 2 player to me! Thats all that matters in a kirby game!

This makes me want to whip out the old 64 and play a little Kirby 64. What a great game...

I dunno about this game. Kirby seems to look like he was just copied and pasted from SSBM

He's freakin sphere! What do you expect? Maybe Nintendo should be edgy and make him a cube?
Besides he doesn't look as good as he does in SSBM.

What's so bad about that? Reusing assets speeds updevelopment and many devs do that.

How much is kirby going to change. You want hardcore oval kirby. There is no hardcore oval kirby I'm sorry. He a pink marshmello, I don't know why you're complaning. If it follows the greatness of its 64 predesessor then I'll be sold. Oh, and we've seen three screens, not enough to make judgements on.

I'll probably get beat for saying this, but I'd like to see this Kirby game cel-shaded.

I agree that the shots are a little underwhelming, but is that because of the shots Nintendo took, or because of the graphics? Some of the enemies look pretty low-poly and special effects are basically nonexistant (why aren't these guys self-shaded?).
Of course none of that matters once you get to actually play the game, but there's not much else to talk about when they just show you a bunch of screenshots. I think it would look cool cel-shaded.

How did I miss this? That is the greatest Kirby-related pun ever.

*looks at screenname*
I'm excited.
Actually, I really, really hated Kirby 64. Too easy, and I think it should've made a similar 2D-3D transition to what Mario did...I'd like to see this as a free-roaming platformer...*patiently waits for Bill to express his die-hard fanboyism over what I just said*

NO! just no. I like the way shards worked. Just make it more, and bigger, and harder, with more enemies and combos and moves that you can do. I want a 20 hour long kirby game. that's just me.

Thanks Bill, I wasn't going to be satisfied until you said something of the sort. =D
I think they should at least give Kirby some sort of power other than sucking. Like a punch. Or maybe a slight tap. Or maybe a "Hey look over there" attack. Or maybe that jacked up cell phone thing in Mirror.

I liked Kirby 64. I'd like it to be a bit harder, but I dunno that I can expect that with a game that so many kids would like. Kirby's da best. Air Ride was damn cool (liked it as much as Mario Kart), and I'm getting the new GBA game soon, so I'll be getting this baby when it comes out.

This new Kirby game is something i will be looking forward to. I have Kirby Air Ride, but did not enjoy it as much as Kirby's Adventure, Kirby Superstar, or even Kirby Tilt'N Tumble. On second thought, I did like Kirby Air Ride better than Kirby Tilt'N Tumble. The concept of that game was interesting but i found it very frustrating rotating the game boy color around to move Kirby.
But, back to talking about the new Kirby gamecube game. Perhaps a smash brothers style mulitplayer mode in this game would be interesting. Or, as D-Mac said, a co-op mulitplayer mode set up in the same way as Kirby Superstar would really make this game great.
