Get your role-playing on.

Did You Know Mario is Moving?

Mario Declares the World is Flat, Decides on a Move to the Flattest City

To commemorate Columbus Day, video game icon Mario(TM) has taken a contrarian position by declaring that the world is flat. As a result, Mario has stated his intention to relocate to the country's flattest metropolitan area, Houston. Though Mario readily admits that he is going against hundreds of years of scientific fact, he says all the evidence for the Earth's flatness is found in his new adventure game, Paper Mario(TM): The Thousand-Year Door.

The game, launching today exclusively for Nintendo GameCube(TM), showcases the ability of Mario and his friends to manipulate their flat, 2-D bodies in dynamic ways. Mario can roll himself into a tube and bounce, slip sideways through narrow passages or fold himself into a paper airplane and soar away. The comical role-playing game sets him on a search for Princess Peach and treasure.

These next few days just won't go by fast enough... ;__;

Arg, I wonder if I'll be able to finish it by the time Mario Tennis comes out...

That's pretty cool how they used Columbus Day that way. Good marketing Nintendo

I can't wait for this game to come out.

Except those of us in Canada don't know what Columbus Day is.    For us today is Thanksgiving.  Yes, Thanksgiving in OCTOBER!  Wacky, huh?

I played the demo for this at EB and it's pretty similar to the original.  Not that that's really a bad thing since the original was a lot of fun.  Still I'm going to hold out and hope my brother buys it since it seems to be right up his alley and that way I can avoid paying for a new game.  It worked for Skies of Arcadia.

While playing the demo I talked to the Goomba following me and she said something like "I'd say something witty but I'm saving it for the full version."  That's awesome.  It's a pity that gag will be lost with the demo.
