Title: My NEW and more DOABLE Project
Post by: kirby_killer_dedede on October 06, 2004, 12:37:40 PM
I'm installing Linux on an Xbox.  Not only will it be a good time-pass, as was the initial reason I began the search for a project, but it is...er..."usable" once it's finished.  For those who don't know, I'm basically using my Xbox for things that normally would only be possible on a computer.

I know pretty much what I'm trying to do, and I don't need much help...I was just wondering, for anyone who may have already done the installation, or anyone who has any knowledge, will I have to purchase a Powerboard (only one site I've found says they have it for Xbox, with a picture of the box and everything, on the search engines, but when you click there it says the product can't be found), or can I just use a USB keyboard or mouse I'd use for my computer?

EDIT: Uh...for MechInstaller, is it possible to hook up a mouse?  I mean, you'd think so, but the tutorial I got only refers to hooking up a keyboard...

EDIT 2: Before you taunt me, take into consideration I've had minimal experience with Xbox controllers; now, if the answer to the question in the above edit is "yes, and it works too," how many ports does a controller have?  Will I have to purchase another controller to use both?  Is it possible to use Linux on an Xbox without a mouse?  Thanks in advance.

Linus? Linus is weak.
Go one better and put MAC OS X on your Xbox
