Title: What is currently the best 1st-person shooter?
Post by: strider_mt2k on October 03, 2004, 09:55:33 AM
I've been reading bad reviews of ports like "Wolfenstein 3D" and "Medal of Honor".
On the other hand I read good things about "Ecks vs Sever" (keeping an eye out for a used copy).

I play alot of Wolfenstein Enemy Territory online on my PC, so the thought of a decent shooter on my GBA SP is cool.

Any suggestions other than "Ecks vs Sever"?

Doom II is far and away the best one, and anyone that says otherwise is a liar

Duke Nukem Advance is the best NEW shooter, and quite possibly beats Doom II (I have both)

For multiplayer, that goes to Doom II, Duke just has smaller versions of single player levels. While doom has 2 player cooperative and 2-4 player deathmatch for all levels.

I wish I had friends with DNA, the game has no single-cart MP...

Medal of Honor's not a FPS on GBA, it WAS going to be.. but like, it sucked so they scrapped it. Now it's a pretty good top down shooter. Doom and Doom 2 are your best bet. But they're still crap on GBA.

Ecks vs Sever followed by Doom II. Of course Metroid Hunters: First Hunt seems to really be the best handheld FPS I've seen, but this is GBA based.
