Title: Symphonia Grade?

Okay, does anybody understand about the Grade system in Tales of Symphonia? I know it depends on how you perform in a battle, but I'll do the same things and get different grades. I'm talking big differences, once I got 2.45 GP and another I only got like 0.04 GP. Once I got NEGATIVE Grade! How is that possible? If anyone could enlighten me, I'd appreciate it, especially since GameFAQs appears to be down for the count.

You get negative grade when you fight a battle poorly...You get more grade when you perform combos...

and u lose grade if u get hit a lot, or someone dies, etc
