I wasn't aware there was another way to make pancakes...

And I hope this clues in the stupid managers at Kaufhof that there's absolutely no reason to have a PC section (PC, XB, PS2, sometimes MAC) and a console section (XB, PS2, GC, GBA). Karstadt noticed how utterly pointless that was (or Sony and MS stopped paying them for adding the PS2 and XB to the PC section, in the previous gens consoles were only in the console section) and merged those sections. At first I thought Kaufhof didn't even sell GCs, but then I was searching for the GBA and thought "They cant be THAT stupid".

WTF are you trying to say?
Wennu schon Deutsch benutzt, nimm wenigstens 'nen Übersetzer. LEO könnte dir helfen... (nebenbei, es heißt "Lebensraum")

Tvman: That'd make absolutely zero sense. I dont think the skinheads wuld support any product not made in Germany itself (and besides they want to play violent games and they want to warez them)

I don't understand Deutsch, so I can't reliably spell anything.  I awkwardly tried to refer to that "insane" "living space" concept i was introduced to in history class a long time ago.

I read some thing interesting on the-magicbox.com  "Sony announced that the sales of PlayStation 2 has increased by 138% in Germany comparing to last year, after the price reduced to 149.95 euro on August 18. The market share of PS2 has increased to 75% in Germany."  And the IGN report claims: "For Q1 2004, Nintendo's portable system and the GameCube made up 52% of all system sales in Germany. The upswing has increased Nintendo's market share to 26% as of June 26, four percent higher than it was during Q1 2004."

So does that mean the Xbox market share is non-existant in Germany??? I think Sony is lying with the 75% market share.

Well obviously.  Who the hell wants to pay for a seriously taxed mature rated games when you don't have to with a childish looking game?  That is the tax law in Germany.  Also since unemployment is a problem I imagine that paying monthly/yearly for an online game will isn't really an open option.  Then you have this Gamecube.  Hardly any Mature rated games and a very unsupported online.

Taxed mature games? WTF? We have enforced age restrictions (selling a game to a person it's not cleared for can get you in jail with a single offense), but no additional taxes for games (standard 16% VAT). Okay, the target demographic for mature games is adult-wannabes, but still.
Though I think the GC has an advantage over the XB. I mean, really, who wants a system that is mostly geared towards online gaming with requirements noone can fullfil? If MS wants to deploy Live! here they must accept bank transfers, credit cards are so rare noone has one and nobody's going to get one just for XBL. Broadband isn't universally available, either. Oh, and maybe they should let modded XBoxes witrh pirated games in there if they want to sell Live in Germany. Hell, I've overheard conversations where people get advice on ripping to HD in the store. "Yes, one of the advantages of the XBox is that you can copy games to the harddrive".

Either way, the Cube gets the smallest section of the three consoles, which actually makes sense considering the number of releases every platform gets.
