Yeah...I already said my piece on how WiR2 looks like a colossal piece of cross-promotional Emoji Movie-tier garbage. I actually had hopes for Lego Movie 2. Guess I can cross that off my rapidly shrinking list of anticipated sequels to movies I adored. Between these 2 and Pacific Rim 2, it's like 2018 is specifically trying to piss me off.

That is 2 for 2. But you're probably reading too much into it. Tiny Toon Adventures had this sort of humor in it in the 90s. Animaniacs did as well. How I spent My Summer Vacation is practically a horror movie with references to Deliverance, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th, and Arachnophobia. There was a lot of political, feminist, and ecological minded stuff in 90s cartoons. Captain Planet and Toxic Crusaders were almost PSAs. The fact that there was a kids cartoon based off of Toxic Avenger is hilarious. But back in the day they used to air everything, but censor it. Kids still attach themselves to things like Five Nights of Freddy.

Lego Movie 2 looks fun to me! They should've called it Mad Max Fury Brick Road. Plot looks like a retread of the first one "conformist society, then everyone gets kidnapped", but if the jokes are still there I'll be game.
Could be that great songs are colouring my judgement here though, what with Beastie Boys and then Daft Punk in the Ralph 2 trailer. It's almost like movie studios want to anchor their movies to previously existing positive memories using songs!

Ralph 2 does look a bit navelgazey indeed, why spend thousands of bucks animating a joke about how your movie title sucks - just change the title? But the princess jokes were fairly good. Not really interested in the whole Emoji movie meets Disneyland plotline though, but hey these films aren't really made for people like me anyway.

Transformers... Yeah I only saw half of the last one and none of the others. It was pretty incomprehensibly dumb. This looks like it at least goes for a typical E.T. story initially. Not gonna see it, but the director of this did Kubo & 2 Strings for Laika animation which is criiiiiiiminally underrated. Go see that one y'all, it's the type of movie we secretly wish young kids would see rather than those hyperactive computer animations haha.

I'm not a fan of the stop motion style they seem to be going for with CG models, but at least it looks visually interesting. Looks like it could be decent enough.

Well, not everyone can be Josh Keaton, unfortunately. He's supposed to be an old Peter Parker anyway, so that didn't bug me that much.

Haha the blue saturation and forests instantly made me go "this looks like a Fox production", look down and yup there it was in the video title.
I suppose it could be good since Shane Black is involved again, but honestly the trailer looks a bit crap. Already dislike all the male characters with their generic tough bro characterisations, and frankly the Predator design has always been so much worse than the Xenomorphs.
I hope it'll be good, but it looks much more action-y than stealthy horror. Ironically I think higher production budgets keep dragging both the Alien and Predator movies' quality down, see also Alien: Covenant.
