Nintendo Gaming / RE: Revolution details to be revealed May 9
« on: November 29, 2005, 03:40:28 AM »
i've seen rumblings that broadway has been finished as well. i suspect we'll get some updates on hollywood before the year is out.

as for may 9th... what I am hoping is that it is an unveiling, that leads to a june release.

i got this and beat if fairly quickly... and loved it. i've been playing it through again to get more stuff. the co-op part is the best (second player can jump in and out whenever they want)

and i agree, i did enjoy it more than the movies =D

so, now we just need the sequel.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: DDR with Mario (HELP ME TY!)
« on: November 08, 2005, 04:23:49 AM »
i just checked out the ddrfreak boards about this game, overall they seemed to like it. everyone liked the music, though apparently it is not as hard as some would have liked. The reviews of the pad say it was the best soft pad they've used, which is a definate plus.

and of course screen shots of beating bowser with all perfects.

played this yesterday, i am not a previous DDR player..
it was definatly fun. i used the supplied pad and i have carpet. the pad didn't bunch, but sometimes i'd tap too lightly. the pad rotated somtimes or what mostly happened was i would drift on the pad, where stepping to the side would be the 'A' button instead of an arrow.

fun game. still trying to figure out the player/calorie thing.

and about carpentry progects to enhance the experience, plywood, four-by-fours, you know, that kinda stuff...

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Rumblings of Revolution controller redesign
« on: November 07, 2005, 08:08:28 AM »
On FPS movement:

with the nunchuck thing you would use the stick and two buttons in one hand for movement, and the rev controller for 'look around', a set up which would be very close to a keyboard mouse type set-up.

if you just used the controller, you could use left and right for the direction, and roll (twisting the controller) for strafing. it would take more time to get used to the movement, but it should be posible.

you know... there IS a network adapter for the cube, blizzard COULD still connect to the net.  i mean they will have to write something to get the ps2 online, since there is no central ps sever (and won't be for the ps3 either, they just announced) so why not the cube too?

i suppose writing blizzard would be pointless, but i think i'll try anyway. though i did cancel my WoW account, so dunno if they want to hear from me =)

caterkiller, sorry to hear the guy was an ... well you know.

i would report him to his management. but make sure it is a store manager, not a manager on duty =)

oh and he probably thinks FPS are the only real video games.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: June 2006?!
« on: October 26, 2005, 07:33:25 AM »
wasn't there an article about ms fabricating the shortage rumors for the xbox? or was that a fabricated rumor about ms? either way, i read somewhere that there should be plenty of 360's come launch time.

as for june, i think it would be a good time to release, esp if they use E3 to pump out publicity.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Revolution Bundle Ideas/Thoughts
« on: October 18, 2005, 08:03:25 AM »
i agree with demo disk to show off the controller.

$250 may be high for a bundle though. $200 is the sweet spot, anything below that will be candy. at $99 a console, i don't know why everyone doesn't have a cube.

Nintendo Gaming / RE: Nintendo Wi-Fi connections... in Wal-Mart?
« on: October 18, 2005, 05:13:15 AM »
wait, why would you need a laptop? that doesn't make sense with the other article, which said you could set it all up on the DS....

ah, except, some hot spots require a password via a website (not just a login type password) and that would be an issue.

but those places suck anyway.

Ok, i think i am mostly exicted about FF5&6 for GBA.

Tales DS? (Symphonia? or something else?)

Did anyone look at the screenshots? There was one that looked like a calendar... my Japanese is, well, non-existant, is that part of a game? or a planner of some sort?

Just got my Nintendo Power today and on the back cover, an ad for Lego Star Wars. Had to dig for a release date, as it is not listed on nintendo.com, but Amazon says it will be released Oct 14.

Which is good, because I so wanted this game. =)

Nintendo Gaming / Play Yan Micro and US release?
« on: September 30, 2005, 10:30:14 AM »
So on link-san the Play Yan is out of stock, but there is something called the Play Yan Micro. Best I can figure this is simply the Play Yan with the update pre-installed (the MPEG4 one).

then I saw this:
It has been released in Japan. A release in the US and Europe has been planned for late 2005.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Play-Yan

Now this is WikiPedia, and not an official site. But with the marketing type name change, i can hope, right?

That being said, I think I really want one of these. I have read not so great reviews of the game boy movie player, and this one is a Nintendo product. Just wish I could play with it for a bit to see how it works. Anyone out there have input on this? I wouldn't use it to replace the iPod, but could I put a movie (or a few episodes of something) on it (easily?) and watch them?

PS. mac users, i found this link, obviously i can't try it...

that being said, most of the hints you have to choose to read, since they are people to talk to. i talk to them not for the hints, but because i don't want to miss any plot...

didn't play last night though, stupid WoW...

the puzzles are very RE, go get thing X which fits into board Y which opens Z to get item Q for ....

it is very much like an adventure game where combat is FPS. or RE for that matter. the invisible enemies is slightly annoying (translation: i died a bit a last night)

and when you try to explain what is going on to someone who has just come into the room... well, it sounds weird.

"ok, that is the ghost of your first kill, and those guys don't exist, and that is sorta a kupo."
