Mafia XL: WWII. 1940.

WAR!

The world is stunned by the late developments of 1939. Years of a fragile peace are shattered when Germany launches an audacious attack against Eastern Europe. Under codename Barbarossa, the Germans begin a new kind of warfare, Blitzkreig. Marching on Sept. 1, they move at a speed greater than an army in history and in 2 months have encircled Moscow. The Soviet Union, under the opposing idealogy of communism is unprepared for the swiftness and force of the Germans. Its leader, Nickmitch is captured and forced to capitulate to German rule. The west reacts swiftly to these events. France and Great Britian have declared War on Germany and her allies. Frence troops race to the Maginot Line to defend their soil from any German threat while British troops come to France's aid arriving through Normandy. In the east, Japan launches an attack on British holdings in addition to its war on mainland China. Italy, working in harmony with Germany, marches along the Adriatic coast into Greece. The U.S.A., while sympathetic to the causes of France and Britian, has resolved to stay out of the conflict. With the dawn of 1940 now on us, no one is sure what this new year will bring.

Oh one question...

If one of the atomic secrets dies, does that make the bomb impossible to build?  If so, will you tell us when one of the secrets dies?

I assume you can investigate dead people.

I also assume that since Khush didn't specifically state a limit on the number of times you can send him your guess list, I can send him a PM with every possible combination and get the bomb on the first day!

Yes, there's no need to fear, Superman is here!

Using my powers of X-Ray vision, I can clearly see that Pale is a terrible liar and a terrible person.  However, I know this only from my X-Ray vision powers, and have no factual information or evidence to support my views for you.  Therefore, I most vote Pale in order to defeat the axis and end this war!

Sorry. I should have stated that earlier. If someone with an Atomic Secret dies, that knowledge is revealed to the world. So, every player will know what it is. Unfortunately, I have to do this during work so it is slowing down how fast I can explain this.

I have now posted some information on Warbucks in the rules and role thread as that info is going to be used sooner than the bomb.

Seriously, can we pool our warbucks together to buy things, if we agree on how they're used, and who gets the benefits?  Essentially give our warbucks to other players?

If that's the case, I'd like to start an alliance, and the people who join me will have a chance to get my warbucks.  I won't take yours, though.  I don't need 'em.

The way I see it, it is a regular mafia game with a side game (the Atomic secret search) and a few options to speed up the strategy and action. (Warbucks).

As well, if you want to buy something with the Warbucks, just pm me. No one has to know who has bought what. I will just adjust availability accordingly.

Well why Nickmitch? It could just be a random choice, but it also could be some MIP and Stratos or Khush and Stevey bullshit.

My theory is because Nickmitch likes to lay low.  He's really tough to read so the mafia might have wanted to get him out of the way early on.  Or it could just be because it's shitty to die on day one--and even shitter to die before the game begins--and since Nickmitch doesn't actively participate much (especially since he can't connect to the forums when he's at school) they figured they'd take out someone who wouldn't as mind as much.  Or maybe he was chosen for the simple reason that he doesn't really have much beef with anyone else, so there's very little to go on when trying to figure out who killed him.

Me too!  And as Superman, I was able to look through the title with my X-ray vision, but it turns out the Rick Astley wears a lead jacket, so I didn't even see it coming.

As far as Pale goes, I really only go after him because he's evil, but also because he does this type of thing... He signs up, posts two or three times in the first day's thread, then comes back on day four or day five, and wants to play.  Whenever he's being voted out and he does decide to post, he doesn't ask anyone for help, or make any attempt to form an alliance with someone.  Also, I like to vote Pale out because he's Pale.

So what I'm saying is that I want him to do something, and maybe then all change my vote.  Just anything would work, really.

Maxi, Pale hasn't really participated in a mafia game for what seems like eons.  He never contacts anyone.  I sent him a PM this afternoon and he barely responded to it.  He just whines about being a townie--even when he's not--and complains that he doesn't know what's going on.

This isn't speculation; this is fact.

No voting requirement. Game is short and I've outlined the benefits for voting (share of Warbucks). All strategy may play. And if Stevey hadn't confirmed that was a vote, I still would have counted it anyways. Any other questions?

As well, there a couple townies who still haven't used their Atomic Investigation power yet. Remember, it is to your benefit, it costs you nothing and you can't bank them. They expire each day.

You're both right. They are trying to outbid one another to survive. Highest bidder lives and that highest bid is then divided out among the players who cast a vote for him. There is more strategy left in that unsaid and I'll leave it to players to find it as they see fit.

Sorry about my speed. Doing this by phone slows things down a lot. Whenever I want to post something, by the time I'm done, someone has beat me to it.

As you may have now realized, I will not be telling you when items are purchased it is your duty to check the lust for updates. If you don't want to be thwarted by them, figure out a strategy. This is a new kind of warfare.

But the only ones with money (currently) is the axis powers. So if one wins, it a immediate outing of the other being mafia...

This is strangely playing out in pale's favor. Hmm....

I like this point.  It's surprising that with Pale doing nothing besides what he always does, he's still wound up in a tie.  That doesn't really add up to me.

Well I can't come to a conclusive decision at this point. So I'm going to un-Vote Plugabugz

Vote Pale

Maxi has changed his vote.

Stevey, every player has money. As I stated, every new day (year) every player is given $100 Warbucks except for USA which gets $200. So you have at least $100 Warbucks so far. If anyone is ever unsure of their total, pm me and I'll tell you.

The hit still gives the mafia the advantage tonight....

Thanks for pointing that out thatguy. If I am wrong about it people can point at me as the one at fault. When you started the vote.
Maxi is dead. I killed him and took his posts and changed genders.

No, I'm pointing it out so people know the vote tally.  I voted Pale and bought a vote against Pale as well.  Even though it's tied, I had the power to turn it the other way, to put it simply.  I just like people to see that tallies have changed.

I just saw the vote change. Sorry on the delay. I was swamped with messages suddenly. Pale has lost the battle of 1940. Night actions are now due an hour from this post.

Maybe too unique. We'll see. But I like it so far. Gives me a chance to test different ideas for a future game I want to do. I think it really opens up new strategies as well. Of course, things could go south fast. I have to keep checking for any flaws and there are a lot of sticky situations I've stopped already.
