Title: New Taiko Drum Master Game Heading to Wii

Namco Bandai’s ever-popular music rhythm series, Taiko no Tatsujin, has just had a new entry in the long running series announced. Namco Bandai will be releasing Taiko no Tatsujin: Super Splendid Edition for the Wii on November 29, 2012.

Boasting 100 songs, Super Splendid Edition marks the series’ fifth entry on the console. The game will play host to a variety of special guests, including Square-Enix’s Dragon Quest. Aside from the main mode that has made the series the hit it is, Super Splendid Edition will include over 30 mini-games.

The Wii’s previous entry, Taiko no Tatsujin: Kettei-Ban, was released last November and is still selling well in Japan, placing 23rd in last week’s Famitsu software sales chart. It has sold roughly 279,000 copies since its release.

It's a Wii game after November 18. Of course it's Japan only.

None of the previous four Taiko games on Wii got released outside of Japan, so I don't think this one will be either. In fact, a look on Wikipedia shows that only one game in the series has EVER been released outside of Japan (Taiko no Tatsujin: Taiko Drum Master for PS2, which got released in North America in October 2004 and Japan in 2005).

Would it have killed the author of the article to have written "...will be released for the Wii on November 29, 2012 in Japan. No word on if the title will be released in other territories but the past Wii games in the series have not."
